No you cannot use your child benefit to buy it, good god how will you afford gin if you waste it all on a bag ??

Goober · 21/09/2008 22:20

Lovely. A bit pricey though.

brimfull · 21/09/2008 22:21

a) lovely but not worth £125
b) as it's a waste no you cannot use the chben for it

stroppyknickers · 21/09/2008 22:22

LL - brilliant idea. I have four, so start the bidding now...(hmm. Mumsnet possibly not most obvious place to flog off kids)

If you use ch ben, will the children go without food?

JackieNo · 21/09/2008 22:23

It's lovely, but just sooo expensive. How about this?

mckenzie · 21/09/2008 22:24

whereabouts in the Southeast do you live SK? If you are close enough for me to borrow it then I insist that you buy it! I think it's perfect.

mazzystar · 21/09/2008 22:24

its not very special or very nice
i think you could have more fun elsewhere with your family allowance

stroppyknickers · 21/09/2008 22:25

Lyra - is that a trick question before I answer. As in, if they won't we shouldn't receive it and it should be means tested? Please don't make me do political at this time of night! (Cautious emoticon) We really need the child benefit, but if I was really careful, they could still eat, and I have paid for school dinners up front, and one is still being breastfed. Do I sound a tad desperate!

Very dull bag.
Only paying for the name.

LyraSilvertongue · 21/09/2008 22:27

No, no, I meant if it's their food money you're spending, don't do it. If it's just general family money and you can afford it, then go for it. Meant it tongue in cheek, honest

islandofsodor · 21/09/2008 22:27

well I wouldn't spend £125 on a bag but our child benefit just goes into mine and dh's bank account and gets used each month along with the rest of our income on whatever we wish to spend it on.

This instead?

expatinscotland · 21/09/2008 22:31

it's not lovely. and only a Brit would pay such a whacking amount for such a banal item.

it's like littlelapin's jumper, a rip-off AND fug.

please, don't be taken for a mug like all the other bourgeois out there.

at least get something leatha' .

twinsetandpearls · 21/09/2008 22:32

Little lapin I have some shoes just like link number one, I suspect they may have been a few months child benefit, maybe I should have more children so I can buy miore shoes.

I am amazed if a woman who has had three kids could wear that dress.

JackieNo · 21/09/2008 22:33
