So got the beautiful flat black boots and they wing out at the top of my calves in an absurd chicken drumstick way, am trying a calf size down. Anyone had this prob?

Am gutted not least as it cost me over £8 to return the feckers!

Did you try them on at the showroom? It's really worth it if you can get there. In my expereince they do vary in size - ie a 39 in one is smaller than a 39 in another style. And the'r postage rate is so high. But great boots!

I returned a pair for just over £5- that was parcel post plus insurance up to £100.

You really need to try them- some sizes are very different- I have been to the shop 3x this season, and only just decided what to buy- I did order a pair and sent back and they were too high and decided to go for flats.

If you want to say which ones you like, then I may be able to help, having tried on lots!

Isn't the postage £20? i think that's quite high.

I had this problem and got them altered by a cobbler.

I have returned too many Duo boots to risk again. I struck gold with my first pair but have since had to return three pairs at £7 a pop
I will not order again unless they do free returns.

Girlsnext door, Macerata black were my choice.

I had never thought of a cobbler! (As it were)

Am too far from a shop, would cost me at least 20 quid to get to the shop in train fares!

Am quite nervous now! Don't want to keep returning things!

I went to the shop full of excitement last winter. Once there I tried on everything and found it a really disappointing experience. I am v. scrawny of calf (34cm) and I have to say when they did fit around my calf , my size 7 feet looked like flippers or I looked like something out of the Gestapo. Also I found that sometimes the top is fitted but the rest of the boot sort of isn't tailored and looked baggy which wasn't a good look.

Dainty stilletto ones fitted and looked best but didn't really suit my school run criteria.

Tonton- postage is £5 per pair.
Posting back is around £5 but you have ti use parcel force not first class or special delivery.

Minko agree- I am a 33 calf. I like lots of styles but the feet and ankles are not always in proportion to the narrowness of the calf.
A lot have baggy ankles or huge feet!

I love Kirov but it's my "best" pair- I also have Ravenna, and now Perugia.

Macerata is very big all over I found- a size 38 foot was massive on me and the ankles huge. I loved the style but it comes up big.

It might be worth grilling the sales team on the phone as they do know the fits quite well.

Sputnik - Postage is only £5 and even less for shoes.

Their new catalogue arrived the other week with instructions on measuring yourself and even a dinky little tape measure.

I ordered the Genova in black and haven't had any problems with the fit.
