Please help me in my not very stylish lime green dilemma

It is our annual conference with work in October and each 'team' has to dress in a theme to mark them apart from each other. Some twat stylishly challenged person in my team has suggested we wear lime green with black. I have seen nothing in lime green at all that I would wear that is within my miniscule budget. I WILL NOT pay loads of money for something in lime green that I will never wear again. I have seen on Ebay, lime green necklaces, big corsages and pashminas all for way under a tenner. I get really rebellious when told what to wear- can anyone suggest anything. I am normally a Topshop and Primark kinda girl.

Could you buy something you like (style/shape-wise) in white and then dye it lime-green?

Theres always the option of then dying it another colour afterwards so its not worn once and binned

suwoo · 15/09/2008 12:34

I don't even want to pay for the cost of the dye . The only thing I have seen is this but I don't really think its business dress

& it isn't really lime

I have a 1960's dress in Lime - what size are you?

JackieNo · 15/09/2008 12:36

Top?

DrNortherner · 15/09/2008 12:37

Suewoo you don't work for a pharma company do you?

suwoo · 15/09/2008 12:38

No, DrN I don't, do you know of one that has these stupid ideas? Nice top Jackie, but not for me.

I'd wear a black dress with all my accessories lime green like you suggested earlier.

JackieNo · 15/09/2008 12:40

Not sure it's really lime, even though it says so.

mablemurple · 15/09/2008 12:40

Lime green nail varnish? (Don't know if you can get it though!)

DrNortherner · 15/09/2008 12:41

I do yes!

Personally I wold refuse to wear lim blinkin green on the grounds I have had my colurs done and I should never wera lime grren

Can you just accessorise instead?

KatyMac · 15/09/2008 12:44

Well it would be big(ish) on you I reckon it's a 14

Do you want a photo when I get home?

suwoo · 15/09/2008 12:45

I like that one Jackie, but it looks yellow doesn't it. What was the woman thinking??? I think I will stick to my guns and accessorise. I always wear piles of necklaces and bracelets anyway, so will be being true to myself...except they'll be in lime green .

Dare I suggest Boden sale? (do a search on 'lime' on the boden site, and there are a couple more, too).

KatyMac · 15/09/2008 12:49

Yep a-line - classic 60's dress imo - round neck (not low) & no sleeves

suwoo · 15/09/2008 12:51

Katy could I wear it over black skinny jeans with shoe boots? If so, sounds good.
Jackie, will have a look, but not really that type

OP posts:
KatyMac · 15/09/2008 12:53

Definatly & if you want you could put a black blouse/shirt underneath

suwoo · 15/09/2008 12:56

Ooh, I am really liking the sound of this. From what I remember of your location, you aren't near Manchester are you? We would have to post then (rec del). Would love to see a pic tonight whenever you get chance.
