It is fancy dress, dance theme.
I would look obscene in a leotard, tutu, or similar.
Budget is small.
Anyone??

Go 80s baby! Baggy t-shirt, leggings, leg warmers! If your hair's long, side ponytail, if not really gel it up!

Songbird · 13/09/2008 20:59

Or flamenco, he he!

cupsoftea · 13/09/2008 21:00

Morris dancer - straw hat & bells

cocolepew · 13/09/2008 21:00

Ballroom? Long dress, orange face.

Nbg · 13/09/2008 21:00

Ball gown?

Cathpot · 13/09/2008 21:00

Dance without leotards.. erm flaminco (sp?), morris dancing...highland fling, the hula grass skirt etc?

snowleopard · 13/09/2008 21:02

I'd go as a bee. Make a big sack-like yellow and black striped body thing from cheap fabric (or get someone crafty to make for you), and wear over black tights and top, with pipe cleaner feelers and big shades. (Bees dance you see - and I love going to fancy dress things as a bee)

luckylady74 · 13/09/2008 21:02

hair back, rose between teeth, long skirt, heels, big hoop earrings - is that flamnco?

Cathpot · 13/09/2008 21:02

the charleston- flapper dress? Jive - lots of petticoats and big belt? cowboy line dance?

pointydog · 13/09/2008 21:20

Fame - just wear leg warmers

geraldinetheluckygoat · 13/09/2008 21:23

pointydog · 13/09/2008 21:27

lolol - yaasss. SPice thigns up.

AnotherFineMess · 13/09/2008 21:29

Ha, I read that as spice thighs up.

TK Maxx often have bargainous ballroom-type dresses.

pointydog · 13/09/2008 21:31

Watch out for the high kicks. That could be an unpleasant sight.

geraldinetheluckygoat · 13/09/2008 21:31

Oh god, does not even bear thinking about!! Besides then I would have to shave legs and possibly even fake tan...

OP posts:
geraldinetheluckygoat · 13/09/2008 21:32

No that settles it, not going as pointydogs idea, would have to have a brazillian. There's no way.

It's my friend's MUM'S party. Can you imagine

pointydog · 13/09/2008 21:34

Could you knit an extra big leg-warmer to go over your body like a tube? To make yourself decent.

geordieminx · 13/09/2008 21:36

Dancing Queen?

geraldinetheluckygoat · 13/09/2008 21:36

LOL that is an excellent idea! Alas, my knitting skills are a bit crap, it would definitely have holes and unravel throughout the evening.
