Cos my DTDs complain about their curls & waves.

I kind friend (of mine ) told them that they should "get mummy to straighten it"

I was horrified at teh suggestion of using straighteners on a 7yo personally.

maybe I am over-reaction though?

No I'd be horrified!!!!

But I have put pipe cleaners in my daughter's damp hair and blowdried it to make it curly. Is that just as bad?

Why don't you try blow drying it straight instead i did this with my dd and it got so tedious she stopped asking. now this might seem ridiculous but try kerastase intense mask its eye wateringly expensive at around £20 a tub but will last forever, I have wavy hair and my dd does too and it makes it so beautiful and shiny that its worth every penny and no knots. As someone who used straighteners most days it does destroy your hair better to learn to manage your curls/waves.

The hairdresser uses them on my 4yo, as her hair is so curly, it's impossible to cut straight! DD loves it! We only go once or twice a year, as I do the other cuts at home, so there's no problem with long-term damage etc.

For occasional treats, I can't see a prob with it with a 7yo
