I am in love with these boots but am not sure if they are a bit too 'mistress of the dungeon'...

I saw them in real life yesterday and they are soooo gorgeous (nicer than they look in the pic), but a little voice in the back of my mind is saying they should really be accessorised with a whip and uncomfortable underwear....

What d'you reckon? (bear in mind I'm 42 - if I were in my 20's I'd have bought them, no hesitation!)

And if I do, what should I wear them with (apart from the whip and leather corset...)?

They're ok. I'm in my 20s and wouldn't wear them, but mainly because I have nothing to wear them with other than jeans. And I wouldn't be able to walk in them. And they look a bit cheap and shiny. Actually, I don't like them at all.

i was expecting to see some kind of fetish wear!

i have a pair of just over the knee stiletto boots that i am deliberating whether or not they look a bit too dominatrix to wear in public or not

they are naot my cup of tea but i think the leather looks nice, matt leather, if it wqs patent i would say NOOOO
the toe is nice too, makes it less mistress of the dungeon

beansmum. Not so shiny or cheap looking in RL, but thanks for the input...

MMS, thanks, that's a good idea. I have no longish winter skirts (ooh! ooh! Shopping opportunity!!) as my legs are the one bit of me I like so in winter I tend to live in two inches above the knee skirts (with opaques) or skinny jeans - but I think a short skirt with those boots would deffo look a bit streetwalkerish (not a great look for the school run...)

It was actually DH that made the 'dungeon mistress' comment, which was why I thought I'd better canvas more sensible opinions here before I made a decision...

lou33, I have also seen a lovely pair of over the knee stiletto boots but have decided they are a step too far (if DH thinks the first pair are dominatrixy, he'll have a heart attack if I were to buy anything over the knee!)

i was about to say they would look ok with a shorter skirt and thick tights as well, as that's what i do, but i just noticed the streetwalker comment

You're young, lou, you can get away with it... I would look very very muttonish if I tried it (I wear mine with DM shoes or flat chunky boots n' thick tights

I really like them. (I'm 43 and would wear them.) Would look good with winter skirts and dresses. Not jeans or trousers unless cut off though.

But then maybe I know nothing, everyone loves those biker boots atm. I was looking at some yesterday and I hate them. So clumpy and blokey.

actually thinking about it the only pair of black shoes i own are black pumps which you would think are naff cos they are leathery i think and black satin peep toes - not sure if those are naff or not

i love them. but i am in my 20's sorry. my mum would look great in them though. if i bought them i know for a fact she would borrow them. and she is 47.

id wear with heavy winter skirts or over skinny jeans.

hang on a minute i am sure i was looking at a thread the other day where naily said she wore black boots. it was an old one - i was searching the archives for opinions on shorts and tights.
