and seeing the Extreme Squall jacket linked reduced from £90 to £18 - well I ordered one and it arrived tonight, oh it is lovely if a little large, the fabric feels completely different to how you expect and discovered on further inspection that it has an Avalanche Rescue system on it lmfao handy when going to Tesco...
Am sure it'll get a good test out tomorrow if the weather forecast is anything to go by!

Here it is for anyone interested

I didn't get a dog with my city squall. But I guess for the city you don't need one - or maybe it would be a small yappy-type dog, instead of a St Bernard.

TimeForMe · 11/09/2008 16:52

I was feeling depressed and then I read this thread ....

Gingerbear · 11/09/2008 17:04

JackieNo - with a diamond collar and matching coat perhaps

Maybe different dog depending on where you will be using it - eg sheepdog for rambling in Dales? Lakeland terrier for hikes in Lakedistrict.....etc

JackieNo · 11/09/2008 17:04

Yes - themed dogs, that's what we want.

sorry

paddingtonbear1 · 11/09/2008 17:43

I like the look of the insulated squall parka, and the down car coat - they are a bit ££ though, but I guess good quality?
They do petite as well so a definite thumbs up there!

MrsFluffleHasAWuffle · 11/09/2008 18:16

Gingerbear, think you have spotted a gap in the market there

Aefondkiss · 11/09/2008 19:42

these would go well with the landsend look

sorry, I am sure it is very practical, very very, I could never of course wear white on top or I would look like a walking snowball.

Megglevache · 11/09/2008 21:04

hehe snowball- that will be me. Still for £17 I don't care, it's more money for lovely shoes.

WilfSell · 11/09/2008 21:09

Go on then aefondkiss, we challenge you to find an alternative...

an actual waterproof light warm coat that has a hood and is long enough and doesn't look like you're halfway up Everest or a bimbo sailor or a teenager with a Croydon facelift.

Megglevache · 13/09/2008 16:08

MIne arrived today. They are very generous in the sizing dept. They gave me the wrong size 10-12 (I am a 14/16) and it fits but I have no chance of wearing anything thick under it - perhaps a vest

cocolepew · 13/09/2008 16:22

Ohhh I've ordered one. Hope it rains.

Megglevache · 13/09/2008 22:35

I was rather hoping for snow drifts and then perhaps I could use the avalanche rescue thingammejig.

Heated · 13/09/2008 22:45

Yeahbut, let's hope the peach slacks are not de rigeur with that raincoat.
