Ilovegorgeous poor quality for the price and not ethically sourced either...this is a hobby business for Harry Enfield's missus!

Podrick · 09/09/2008 16:53

Google the dutch brand Jottum for fab stuff at huge prices!

Sycamoretree · 09/09/2008 16:53

Oh, Monsoon, definitely.

parchment · 09/09/2008 17:20

but nearly every little girl will be wearing a Monsoon dress at parties. I wouldn't go there for something special.
The quality isn't what it used to be either and it has got more 'high street'.

Oh parchment, I'm only gently ribbing you but you sound like someone out of Pride and Prejudice!

Moonson so ubiquitous those days... too pinky, girly in the wrong kind of way..ah, and shinny!

thank u for the other links!

Sycamoretree · 09/09/2008 17:53

Sunshine - you've just tripped in like Miss Austen herself! You and Parchment can get a room and erm, muse together.

The three dresses I bought in summer sale were so far from pink and girly it's wasn't true. One very bold vibrant tropical type print in petrol and cerise and white. The other, a very demure cream cotton dress with silver grey broderie anglaise and a delightfully victoriana vibe with floppy bow. The other I can't remember - I probably bought it because it was cheap.

SunshineSmith · 10/09/2008 14:52

Delighted for you!

yelnats · 10/09/2008 15:04

Hulababy · 10/09/2008 15:07

Monsoon is normally fab for special dresses

franch · 10/09/2008 15:28

Thanks for all the links everyone - will come back in a sec and check them out. I kind of agree with parchment about monsoon ...

DDs are 3 and 4.5

I bought DD a really pretty special occasion dress from Debenhams. Twas a Red Herring dress.

pagwatch · 10/09/2008 15:31

I would google Jottum ( bought four or five dresses from them for weddings etc they are fab although last season wasn't so nice).
Floriane is pretty in French traditional way. Childrenssalon have a nice selection including D&G and Kenzo which again can have nice pieces. For younger girls Sarah Louise is nice at times but you have to swerve the meringue type ones. Save the queen have funky stuff for older girls but parties ratherthan weddings. And Their Nibs do very lovely party dresses.
Also depends on your budget

Why don't you do a search on ebay for girls dresses for the correct age group and then list highest price first. That way you will get unusual and occasion dresses for ideas and at the top of the price listings a lot of the stuff will be new.
