What do I do with this hair clip??

Have just bought a new hair clip thingy after deciding that stealing dd's bobbles is soo not a good look. Thing is I have no clue how you're supposed to wear it!

It is a long thin metal one that acts kind of like a clothes peg, but I can't seem to get it to hold any hair in any way. Any ideas?

I twist mine at the back, then use the clip to hold it in place.

Ooh thanks for quick replies . So essentially I just use it like any other clip? It just doesn't seem to hold my horsey mane .
