Should I just go ahead and bid on it anyway?

youarefabulous · 04/09/2008 19:06

expatinscotland · 04/09/2008 19:07

go and show us then!

Miaou · 04/09/2008 19:09

ah unfortunately my esp is not working today. I need a link

WigWamBam · 04/09/2008 19:11

Doesn't matter what it looks like; if either one of you doesn't like it then it's a no-no in my book.

It's his home too ...

hullygully · 04/09/2008 19:12

I love it - very minimalist

catinthehat · 04/09/2008 19:16

Dunno, not my favourite fire surround
Have a look at this one

or this

maybe this?

Your DH will probably go for this one I imagine.

I belive your husband was trying to say something on these lines "You will have nightmares poking the dust out from those parallel bits at the top, and the surface may not be particularly well finished." but it came out wrong. He was only thinking of you.

Slubberdegullion · 04/09/2008 19:34

I agree with your DH, and WWB

PeaMcLean · 04/09/2008 19:35

DAmn. Cat, none of your linsk work.

Lynette, it's a bit fussy for my liking - looks like a lot of dusting to me.

Tease.

Got me all excited then.

LynetteScavo · 04/09/2008 19:43

Ah, but Wigwambam, DH has a theory that houses houses where only one person chooses the interior design tend to look better than houses where two peoples tastes have clashed.

1950's semi We ripped out an early 80's suround that incorporated a shelf which went into the alcove .

I want something tastefull, classy, not cheesy, yet will look OK in a 50's semi. I'm not sure this is possible. I've only done rambling victorian and new build before.

We have pain walls.

Sisal as in that stuff you can't get sick out of?

I'm going for wood floors, but DH reckons he will fit it himself, so probably won't be installed untill 2015.

OP posts:
WigWamBam · 04/09/2008 19:58

Oh no, don't like that.

It reminds me of that game where you stack up the wooden bricks and then have to pull each one out and wait for it to fall over.

WigWamBam · 04/09/2008 20:00

Isn't sisal that stuff they make cat's scratching posts out of?
