Eyeshadow advice for an eyeshadow beginner

I have a party to attend and am having a kate moss fringe cut on saturday. Would like to take advantage of my new fringe (and the way they focus all attention on eyes) by making the most of them.

I have heard there are somer eally good eyeshadows out there, so firstly, recommendations? And also, application tips for making it look super-fabulous!

I have bluey/greyey/greeny eyes, hair is blonde, skin tone is medium [will be applying fake tan]

Help! Help!

Get thee to mac for a makeover - their eyeshadows are fab.

triffictits · 26/08/2008 20:15

I agree MAC eyeshadows are great and you can go to the counter for a make up lesson.

Jewelsandgems · 26/08/2008 20:17

Ok cool but what colours do you think?

No idea sorry as I have brown eyes but the girl at the counter should be able to suggest suitable colours. It will depend what you plan to wear as well.

triffictits · 26/08/2008 20:20

sorry cant help with colours - i have blue eyes and brown hair!
They will advise you of colours when you go.

There is a Mac near me [or at least the party is in London and I know there is one at Selfridges and perhaps Liberty]

Are the pressed eyeshadows the best, or those loose powder ones? Also, is it best to go for subtle-just-see-colour-when-blink or mega colour??

Just an update to say thanks for all of you who recommended Mac . I went there, they selected shades for me and applied it - along with lots of other makeup and [if I do say wo myself] my eyes looked WOW!

If any others out there are wanting something really special, Mac is the place.

Also, chanel stopped making my eyeliner in Evergreen and Mac were the only ones who have a simular colour!

rant about MAC makeup finished

Loads of the bath and body stuff agreed, but Laura Mercier is brilliant and so is Chanticaille (?)

Collection 2000 do a fab and cheap eyeliner in Eucalyptus. They're only a couple of quid and for that price you won't cry if you lose it.
