These are new on the Joules website from their Autumn/Winter range and come in variety of colours (I like the stripey ones!)

I bought some of the ankle length wellies once but tbh they had all the hideous uglyness of wellies and none of the practicality. I ended up sending them to the charity shop.

winnie01 · 21/08/2008 12:04

WilyWombat - would you recommend below the knee ones ?

Sorry only just noticed your question. Ive never tried them but I would imagine the mid calf ones are probably going to be more practical. Really the ankle length ones did nothing that a pair of good walking boots wouldnt.

If they are mid calf you can still tuck your trousers in if its really wet but you dont have that clompyness that you get with full length wellies

You want some of those cheap crocalike type wellies. I have a pair and they really are fantastic, they are so light, warm, waterproof, very comfortable, and they were less than a fiver!

I ordered the blue Seasalt ones on Wed, arrived today and are fab
