MIRACLESUIT swimsuit- anyone got one?

Am thinking it's too much money to spend on a swimsuit (way too much) but if it works...

no one?

Is that the one that is about £150.00 I saw someone on telly wearing one and she swore by it. I couldn't justify that much money on a swimsuit, but if I won the lottery . . .

anchovies · 19/08/2008 17:04

I've got one. It's good but it would take more of a miracle for me to be completely happy in it! It's good for giving you more of a waist.

SqueakyPop · 19/08/2008 17:07

I've got one. I paid $120 six years ago.

It is very hard to get on and a relief to take off.

anchovies · 19/08/2008 17:07

I won mine in a competition otherwise no way would have justified it. I also have a john lewis control one that is almost as good (and I thought it was ridiculously expensive at £50!)

soph28 · 19/08/2008 17:08

the ones I've seen are around £90 so still A LOT but not quite £150- eek.

Anchovies- but is there a big difference between it and a normal swimsuit? Does it give you more confidence? My problem is not my waist as such it is my minging overhanging tummy- yuck (3 babies in 3 years not good for my body)

Just looked at the John Lewis website and they do a tummy control one for £30 and it looks really nice! Might try that one first!

Anyone else have a recommendation?

Mine has all sorts of diagonal bits across the tummy to disguise its real vastness.

BlingLovin · 19/08/2008 17:28

Honestly - M&S. I loved the two I bought there last year, I didn't even try to find a new one this year. Ridiculous weather also played a part. [irritated emoticon].

I got a really nice tankini one last year that, while not hiding that I need to lose weight, doesn't make me feel like a fat cow. And it was cheap. And you could buy the top in bra sizes. And you could buy top and bottom in entirely different sizes and colours.

DH was pleased....

onceinalifetime · 19/08/2008 17:31

Am on my second one, not a miracle worker but has good bust support and two layers over the tummy area which makes things look slightly less hideous. Got first one on figleaves.com and second new on ebay - I think figleaves.com has them on sale now. They've changed the fabric at the back which is not quite as soft as it used to be but then my first one dissolved in patches from swimming pool chemicals so maybe that's why.

soph28 · 19/08/2008 17:43

Squeakypop, would you say it was worth it?

BlingLovin- my DH would be ecstatic if I wore a string bikini! Everyone else would be repulsed

May just have to go and try some different options on...

Soph
Believe me... it wasn't a strong bikini. Sadly, even my DP, who thinks I'm a goddess, bless him, would be horrified! I think I'm using the wrong word? Is "tankini" the one where it's a top and bottom but the top is like a little tank top, rather than a bikini covering just the boobs? If what I'm describing is NOT a tankini, take my description, not the word!

Will be - how many other people have I confused - innocent work colleagues/my brothers or father/ DPs friends' wives....

SqueakyPop · 19/08/2008 18:11

I wouldn't buy one for my current needs - a few days a year - but at the time, I was living in a hot place, spending several hours at the pool every day for 10 weeks.

soph28 · 19/08/2008 21:54

BlingLovin- LOL you are using the right words! I didn't mean it like that- I just meant that I know what you mean about your DH loving your swim attire cos mine is the same- thinks I'm a Goddess when am blatantly not

So sorry for sending you into panic mode. Tankini is totally what you meant and what you described

SqueakyPop, I am going on hols soon and other than that it will just be worn to the pool when I take the dcs so I think I will look for the best cheaper alternative!

www.figleavesclearance.co.uk seems to have some miraclesuits and magicsuits(?) at greatly reduced prices - might be worth a try - only thing that's stopped me ordering is that all the items say they are non-returnable!

Good luck trying - like you I refuse to fork out £100+ for a swimsuit.

Mimsy2000 · 20/08/2008 08:53

i have one which i bought in the states a couple of years ago. they are a pain to get into and out of but they do look pretty good. my chubby bit is my tummy and it defo helps that area. it was expensive, but i've had it for a few years now...

BlingLovin · 20/08/2008 08:54

Oh dear, clearly my neuroses are coming to the fore! Soph, thanks for clarifying that one! Phew.

soph28 · 20/08/2008 10:50

Kdk- have looked but I don't think they have the right sizes for me. Also, like you, I would be uneasy ordering a non returnable swimsuit!
