I was wearing suede ruched ankle boots at school discos circa 1982 and would never want to go there again.
I don't think I've ever seen someone wear ankle boots and a skirt and thought "That looks good". Maybe OK if you're a cowgirl or something. Everyday, flattish boots are tricky - either too Adam Ant or too Yee-Ha ish.
