£165! Madness m'lady.

Flightputsonahat · 30/07/2008 11:39

Hee hee

Was thinking, mauve wooly tights, dark short skirt, you know the kind of thing...would the brown be better?

I might just bugger it and order them and then report back.

OP posts:
Flightputsonahat · 30/07/2008 11:40

Yes but I am going to wait till the sale and the dodgy colour ones are reduced iyswim.

If I order and try on I will know what to do when tis sale time...

filthymindedvixen · 30/07/2008 11:40

I like, but not at that price!

Flightputsonahat · 30/07/2008 11:40

You get 10% off so £148 ish.

cornsilk · 30/07/2008 11:47

waiting for sale good tactic - I like!

Jewelsandgems · 30/07/2008 12:57

They seem a little bit expensive to me, especially when their wear-a-bility is reduced to a) with a long skirt or b) walking in muddy conditions.

maidamess · 30/07/2008 12:58

They would have to fit VERY well around the calf to not look like wellies, especially in that welly green colour.

Ooh can you get that kind from Joneses?

The thing is I always want boots that are that shape iyswim, and nobody ever sells them, and if I wore them every day (which I would in winter) it would be worth even £148.

I have a lot of cheapy ones that were never quite right. Am trying the 'get one thing and wear it to death' approach, now I am getting old

Clutter and armfulls of stuff from the topshop sale that was only any good because it was cheap, is what it used to be like round here...false economy really.

Mind you if they do look like wellies they are going straight back without even removing the crumpled paper

I like them but you will get a pair probably exactly the same elsewhere.

I do love these though

Really? I suppose I only ever go in Jones at sale time by which time everything in an 8 is purple with suede stripey bits and a 5 inch heel.

Pleeeease show me the rest. I tried search but it only had loads of crocs on the page

Flightputsonahat · 30/07/2008 13:30

butwhybutwhy · 30/07/2008 13:30

Do you know those Fry boots that everyone raved about 3 years ago ish?

Well Jones did their own version, sold them for £150 and then reduced them to £15 in the sale.

Bargainous. Jones do good sales.

bundle · 30/07/2008 13:34

why not get some duo boots, most of which are cheaper and then you get ones which exactly fit?

Jewelsandgems · 30/07/2008 13:35

How about duo? They have lots of more casual boots, all made to measure your calf, and they don't look wellyish in the slghtest.

Flightputsonahat · 30/07/2008 15:59

Thanks, they are quite nice - but I couldn't see much in the way of flat boots? I can't do heels, I am rubbish totterer

Do we like the Cloudy mac by the way? I thought lilac spot one was good. Here

OP posts:
thegrowlygus · 30/07/2008 16:08

I got the catalogue this morning and seems like I went through exactly the same thought process i.e. "OOooooh they are nice, or actually, do they look like wellies?"

Then looked at the price.
