this one
Love love love it so much.

So if I am 5'7'', size 14, 36B boobs, typical pear shape with long legs, short body and a certain amount of 'bootay' would this wok on me?

I think there is a pic of me on my profile

I think that's a pretty flattering shape for most body types tho am no trinny. And it's a real bargain so maybe take a risk and flog it on ebay if it turns out not to look as good as you hope?

Gobbledigook · 27/07/2008 15:27

I think it's horrid. Frumpy

Gobbledigook · 27/07/2008 15:28

Chiffony frilly fabrics are not 'with it' imo. The colour would drain the average person too.

IllegallyBrunette · 27/07/2008 15:29

Tbh I don't like it much.

Were you planning on getting the pink or black ?

Carmenere · 27/07/2008 15:31

I think that there is a very high risk of that dress looking a bit mother of the bride. Sorry. I suspect that is the reason it is so discounted.

bratnav · 27/07/2008 15:37

MOB not good, I am only turning 30 in 3 weeks

I was thinking the pink rather than the black

OP posts:
Gobbledigook · 27/07/2008 16:05

Yikes, no.

Gobbledigook · 27/07/2008 16:06

Someone who is not yet 30 should not be wearing that dress!

Most of the stuff on that Ghost website is horribly frumpy. Is it not aimed at the over 50s?

Fimbo · 27/07/2008 16:17

My mother is 75 and it is the kind of thing she would like - sorry Bratnav

bratnav · 27/07/2008 16:21

OK OK I will try and find something else unless anyone else wants to......

OP posts:
VersdeSociete · 27/07/2008 16:30

Oi, Ghost is not all frumpy and for over-50s, some is v nice. that dress is quite MOB though...

Gobbledigook · 27/07/2008 16:34

It's just my opinion based on what I've just scrolled through on the sales page. Not my bag anyway - I consider it old fashioned.

cornsilk · 27/07/2008 16:38

I don't like it.

oi · 27/07/2008 16:40

lol GDG

I don't think it's that bad at all but it looks see through?

I need to find a dress for a wedding for next Saturday and had completely forgotten until today arrghh

oi · 27/07/2008 16:41

in fact, I think it looks ok (though I hate viscose)

flowerybeanbag · 27/07/2008 16:47

I quite like it actually. I don't think it would look MOB on someone young and un-frumpy.

BBBee · 27/07/2008 17:03

i think that given your body shape you might benefit from a tighter fit round the midriff to show off difference between waust and hips - the dress skims over waist to hips so might make waist seem bigger IYSWIM

oi · 27/07/2008 17:11

why is everything pink? I've just looked at a lot of the online shops and loads of dresses are in that violent pink colour

chipmonkey · 27/07/2008 17:28

Shape OK, colour horrible and I don't think it would look great in black either, sorry.

maidamess · 27/07/2008 17:30

I didn't like it on the other thread either! I don't think it has any redeeming features at all...sorry!

Mumsnut · 28/07/2008 10:04

I own it and like it!

Mumsnut · 28/07/2008 10:05

I own it and like it!

Mumsnut · 28/07/2008 10:05

Oops. Didn't mean to be THAT emphatic ...

SuperSillyus · 28/07/2008 10:19

I think it is a lovely dress. (I'm 41 though )
You could wear it with some young and gorgeous shoes.
