Bikkembergs - Yay or Nay?

Today at the playground I saw a nanny wearing these shoes. She wore them with wide-leg jeans and a plain white T-shirt and looked really stylish.

I have been looking for comfortable yet stylish shoes for a long time and was finally going to buy a pair of Converse (my first pair). Or should I get a pair of Bikkembergs?

They look too much like trainers to me. Would stick with Converse

they are cute but i do not like the shininess. converse are best on narrower feet, is that you?

otherwise puma or gola.

Converse

Thanks for your help girls. Don't like shininess either, fishie. And, you're right Tinker they really do look like trainers and I think I'm going to buy my first pair of Converse this weekend! Now I just need to choose between hi-top and lo-top ... and there are so many colours. Decisions, decisions... Might go for blue or grey I think.

Definitely converse. I mostly wear cream lo tops, they go with everything.

I wouldn't wear those if you paid me, fritzi. Hideous and hideously expensive. I am prepared to accept that the nanny you saw made them look good though (I guess).

Can't go wrong with Converse and if you were considering those other eyesores shoes, you could treat yourself to a pair of hi-tops and a pair of lo-tops in two different colours

Harpo, I was a bit about the price too. Now I'm glad I asked the MN stylists for advice
