to cover my bloody bad rosacea and that I can wear in the Californian heat. We're off on holiday there for nearly a month in two weeks time and I want to look good of an evening. Don't want much do I?

well if you're near a bobbi brown counter ask for some help.ime they have fab foundations for covering redness
the foundation stick is fab but you need to get the shade correct so ask for help

Is your rosacea being treated, I have it and is completely covered either by a good concealer over the worst bits, I use a Maxfactor panstick and then either a minerel foundation or a liquid clinique one.

I have rosacea, and use Bare Escentuals foundation and concealer, seems to work for me.

thanks for replies. i don't seem to have too much of a problem when it is just red, it's when it really flares up and gets all sore with the pustules and dry skin -then no makeup seems to sit on the surface of my skin properly. Treat it with ABs but still have really bad flare ups. So it sounds like a mineral foundation is the way to go? Maybe I should wait til I get there and drag dh off to the makeup counter in Macys to treat me eh?

Worrybum, mine is under control just now using metrocream, not the metrogel, and make up sits ok on top of that. I have been lucky, not had a papopustular outbreak for aobut 3 years.

worrybum · 08/07/2008 21:45

oooh have not heard of a cream. Might have to ask gp about that. I take lymecycline oral ABs and use the rosex gel

Not sure if it will give you what you need iykwim BUT imo Dior airflash is the dogs balls .!!!!

Its like being airbrushed and is perfect at providing coverage. Its also not to heavy. Takes practice to apply but if you have a few attempts before you need it iykiwm you will be fine.

I absolutly luurrrvvveee it and I have used a variety of foundations.

See your local dior counter for a trial/make over.

worrybum, I always found the gel flaked under makeup, the cream dosen't do that, so I'm far happier with it!

Mineral foundation is the best.

Looks completely natural, doesn't shine, and even covers up the moles on my face.
