I have the work dark circles under my eyes and ordinary concealer (rimmel) just won't cover them, anyone recommend a concealer/cover up that REALLY works? I'm quite pale so would need one to suit my skin tone...

Touche Eclat = wonderful stuff

DazedEmma · 08/07/2008 00:06

oh have read that is supposed to be brilliant. Where can I get it for the absolute cheapest?

Benefit Boing, or their new Erase Paste applied with their Concealer Brush are both really good.

Prescriptives used to do a really fab cream thick concealer in a tube with a black top. They may have phased it out for newer ranges but if you can find it on a counter, its the best I've ever tried. I've got 2 black eyes. I put Touch Eclait on top.

the prescriptives one is about £12 and lasts for ages.

I second the Benefit Erase Paste. I don't bother faffing with a brush, tho - just put a dab on your ring finger and pat on inner corners of eyes. Used to use TE, but Erase Paste more heavy duty, cheaper & lasts longer.

juniperdewdrop · 08/07/2008 09:43

don't always think expensive is the best. My mate got one from the pound shop of all places and it's brill. As has been said aldi's good too.

Tutter · 08/07/2008 09:44

ooh cod really?

2 weeks ago i developed red flaky skin under my eyes

i wondered if it was touche eclat but started wearing it a couple of months ago -- assumed i would have caused an allergy straight away

but maybe not

i stopped using any concealer for a cople of weeks and put a dabof E45 on

has cleared up but am scared to put any concealer on again

Erase Paste by Benefit. It's awesome. Better than Touche Eclat, which I might use at the corners of my eyes to brighten now but for coverage? Def Erase Paste. In fact, I love Benefit.

good old cheapy Hide the Blemish from Rimmel

DonutMum · 08/07/2008 11:41

Oh, and my dark circles are terrible - look like I've been punched half the time.

Mavornia · 08/07/2008 11:56

The Mac concealer is great with Touche Eclat on top

Tatties · 08/07/2008 12:04

I like the Dior version of touche eclat

missblythe · 08/07/2008 13:28

Laura Mercier Secret Camouflage.

Get two colours in one palette, and then the nice lady in the shop teaches you how to blend them to cover up all that ails thee.

Is superb!

bargain bin
Hide the blkemish- rimmel
tesco ( barbara daly?) only £2 for little pot

top end
touche eclait
clinique- all about eyes (little tube)

All are fabbo. Touche eclait is not enough on its own though. put rimmel on first the te on top.

I too have pale skin and dark eye circles.

marmalady · 08/07/2008 13:38

hmmm..... i feel a rush to aldi coming on a la waitrose bottom butter.............

DazedEmma · 08/07/2008 13:39

i need one that definitely covers black circles though, a lot of the cheaper ones are super for blemishes but not at covering dark circles.

the hide the blemish one from rimmel doesn't cover them....

TE = waste of money in my opinion. It's for people who actually don;t have blemishes or dark circles.

If you do however I recommend The Body Shops concealer pencil. Great stuff!

You need to buy a sharpener for it too which is a bit of a gyp though

myermay · 08/07/2008 13:45

tutter, i also got a sudden reaction to TE, left it off for a month, and now using a different one and it's fine

Tutter · 08/07/2008 15:02

you see i'm not sure why i ever bought it

yes, i do - i'd heard so much about it

but tbh am happy with the only other 2 i've used - rimmel and chanel (slight price diff between them, but i like both)
