Would depend on the style of the veil I think.

OracleInaCoracle · 06/07/2008 14:50

hmmm, think ivory would be too bright.

stretchmarkqueen · 06/07/2008 14:53

Thanks for replying. Just a short one, i don't think you can get any other colour, can you? Apart from white, of course.

i had a golden creamy coloured mid length veil for my wedding, looked v antique.

OracleInaCoracle · 06/07/2008 14:56

it also depends on if you are wearing it over your face.

cornsilk · 06/07/2008 14:57

post a pic!

stretchmarkqueen · 06/07/2008 15:31

its the main picture. I know it's classed as a bridesmaid dress, Do you think it's bride-y enough?

That's lovely! Have you got a link to a veil?

I had that veil for my dress which was also from BHS, though isn't on the website any more. It's a beautiful veil.

stretchmarkqueen · 06/07/2008 17:54

Which dress was it??!! I tried all of them on!! The veil is nice then? There wasn't any instore, was worried it may be a bit thin.
thanks for replies.

Lovely dress and I reckon the ivory veil will look lovely with it. I'm getting married in Nov and have a red dress so have avoided a veil because I had no idea what would "go"

stretchmarkqueen · 06/07/2008 18:07

Red dress sounds lovely! I have red hair so that would be out for me! I like white/ivory dresses but they wash me out, but i would like a bit of tradition with the veil, have ordered it, so fingers crossed it will go with the dress!

I love that dress!! Did you get married at the Mill Forge in Gretna?

OP posts:
lumpsdumps · 06/07/2008 18:30

I did! Am now 13 days into married life!

lumpsdumps · 06/07/2008 18:34

Where are you getting married?

stretchmarkqueen · 06/07/2008 18:35

Congratulations!! Wow, hows married life? My friend got married at the Blacksmiths last year, it was gorgeous! We were going to get married at the Mill, but families weren't keen to travel that far, pay for hotel etc... ended up doing here instead. (leicester), . Your pics look lovely, wish we'd stuck to our guns.

You can dye a veil simply by dipping it in a vat of black coffee.

Seriously, it should turn out the right colour. Try on a small scrap of veil fabric.

I have 'aged' lace before by dipping in black tea (for a yellowy/ivory 'old' look). Coffee should give you a light mocha colour.

lumpsdumps · 06/07/2008 18:46

Married life is fun, but not really any different, just have a different name really!Husband did the whole of the wedding so I only had to get the dress and all my bits. Did you see all the photos?
