Here. Though my sewing skills are zilch, so I'd have no chance, even if they came in my size. Interesting patterns, though.

hmm not sure I like the pattern and quite £££ considering you're making it yourself

prefer white stuff

girlnextdoor · 05/07/2008 17:47

OMG- Clothkits- are they back- have they ever been away? USed to get stuff for my DD when she was tiny- that's 20 years ago!!!!!

brimfull · 05/07/2008 17:51

think they've just made a comeback

ChanJackieTylerNo · 05/07/2008 20:49

Yes - they relaunched recently.

I don't believe it, lol!

I used to find them no different to doing the whole thing from scratch, tbh.

All it saved was the cutting out. You still have to do all the sewing.

WinkyWinkola · 05/07/2008 20:54

I loved Clothkits as a kid. My mum always used to botch it up a bit but I still loved their stuff. They're back! I can't sew but I'll just look and get nostalgic. Expensive though?

Ineedsomesleep · 05/07/2008 20:55

So let me get this right, you pay £38 for a skirt and then you have to sew it up yourself. Walk away from the computer and get yourself to Tesco.

BellaBear · 05/07/2008 21:02

Oh! I used to have clothkit dolls! One was called Polly, but I lost her and then I got one called Tia and my dad suggested Maria as a middle name, so it was and took me years to find out why it was funny.

Thank you for linking to that site, you've sent me down memory lane!

lovely shirts but i would def expect mine to be ready made at that price

snowleopard · 05/07/2008 21:07

Wow. I don't think I'd look good in any of them, but those designs are cool! If they could put the birdy or the trellick on a t-shirt (that's a long length t-shirt, online retailers and yes johnnie I'm talking to you as well) I'd snap it up.

I had a clothkits 70s childhood too but it was never that fashiony.

shreddies · 05/07/2008 21:15

I love the Trellick skirt. My mum kept my clothkitty for about twenty years, but sadly she fell victim to a ruthless clear out . I WANT one.

penguinaballerina · 05/07/2008 21:28

I have got the chicken skirt, haven't made it up yet though. I think it's gorgeous. More of a winter skirt though. It should be really warm, it's fully lined.
I agree they are a bit pricey, but it was my birthday present.
I don't think it will take long to make up. Saving it for those long winter evenings ...

puppydavies · 06/07/2008 09:54

for anyone who likes the designs jane foster who does some of them sells prints on ebay she does bags and cushions and stuff too. we've had a couple of her prints for years and i did a double take when i saw the new clothkits as they're so distinctively her. but to come back to skirts she's selling a white stuff one on ebay that's really cool

LynetteScavo · 06/07/2008 10:00

Oh!

The girls dresses are lovely.
