Sorry commiserate is spelt wrong : I went to hairdressers today asked for highlights top sectionaiming to blend root colour through to tips on some strands ie 1 blonde, onelightbrown one honey blonde. Have been to salon before. Regular hairdresser on ML.

I sit here tonight almost bright brassy blonde a la Roxy Mitchell. With black stripes at temples. And down centre parting, roots hardly touched, Was so shell shocked I actually THANKED inbred nutter who performed this.

Burst into tears at home. Rang salon owner
and she has very kindly told me to comeback tomorrow; she will put it right.

I am off to bed: why does dh not understand??

HOW can she putthisright?

Will post tomorrow. Another effing daywasted Icould be doing something else more important I can ill afford to waste.

I need whisky. Do not mess with your hair EVER LADIES!!!

EVER!!!

Commiserations freckly. Hope you get it sorted

Hathled · 03/07/2008 22:33

Can only provide sympathy I'm afraid - but lol at Roxie Mitchell look.

frecklyspeckly · 03/07/2008 22:36

I look like a lady of the night with the wardrobe of pauline fowler.I am bereft.

My sympathies.

I got my long hair chopped yesterday and whilst it looked okish yesterday, today having washed it myself it looks like Stacey's mother's hair in Eastenders.

Fimbo · 03/07/2008 22:47

Gawd

Katisha · 03/07/2008 22:55

Yep sympathies. I started a haircut disaster thread last week. It's FAR too short and while it looks OKish when they do it with all the products etc, when I do it myself I end up looking like my 6 year old DS. AND I had two big events to go to.
Oh well. It's growing...

I am beginning to think hairdressers don't actually look at you in relation to what they are doing.

frecklyspeckly · 04/07/2008 22:37

Well, i said i would post again today so....
Thanks for making a fuss of me when I felt sorry for myself.

I now have had my hair redone.

I am very happy - it has been toned down!! back to normal but they got 3 hairdressers to look at it and do the foils - they squeezed me in around their other clients.

Apparently this (new)girl is ok at doing the oldies hair but this is the second time she has done this to a younger person. Someone else had to come back to be redone. She is banned from going near colouring.

They all stood looking at the damage tutting and saying 'oh god'. Not a nice feeling.Poking further and exposing more black slices of roots. And she had cut it wrong too they said!! So my scalp is throbbing now with all the pulling and mauling (how do models and actresses put up with it?? drive me mad)!!

But I am very impressed with how they treated me and repaired the damage.
The girl came and apologised - I felt so embarassed for her

I am on hols soon - scared to get any chlorine on it in case it goes green; shall purchase swimming cap and bellow at DS not to dunk me like he normally does.

I wont forget this in a hurry; have vowed not to get any more highlights anymore, just browns.

Poor Fimbo and Katisha; I too have experienced over-short hair... hope it gets better soon.

Glad it's sorted, hairdressers can be so rubbish but sounds like this girl just lacks experience.

Regarding going green on hols, Kerastase do a spray to prevent this but if it does happen soaking hair in tomato juice works!

OracleInaCoracle · 04/07/2008 22:45

glad that its sorted now. i had my hair cut into a funky crop 10y ago. it was supposed to be all messy and gamine. instead, she cut it to about 1/2 inch all over and i looked like a 12yo boy. dh opened the door to me and said... "oh bab"

macherie · 05/07/2008 21:50

Freckly, Boots have leave in conditioner which protects your hair from chlorine, called Surf & Swim or something like that, it's bright blue, but doesn't look it when it's on. I swim 3-4 times week and no greenhair yet.
