Thats it really.

I wash my hair every other day, but on the second day its very greasy and i really should wash it every day. Does anyone know how to make hair stay fresh for longer?

TIA

Getting pregnant always works for me, but is perhaps a little drastic...

StressTeddy · 02/07/2008 23:39

Lee Stafford - "Oliy roots" - hideous name for a product but totally wonderful

bluenosesaint · 02/07/2008 23:42

Or try batiste dry shampoo.

Sounds like the one already recommended but only one I've heard of.

bluenosesaint · 02/07/2008 23:44

Definitely going to give lee stafford a go stressteddy ...tis a much better suggestion than perts ...

Purplepillow · 02/07/2008 23:48

Yeah I use it all the time, it's great and only about £1.99 a can and last a fair while.

Not heard of the lee stafford one but sounds similar.

bluenosesaint · 02/07/2008 23:49

Great! Thanx

I would say don't wash it so much. It makes it over produce serum because you are constantly stripping it of natural oils. Of course, it will have to look worse before it looks better and I'm not saying that'll be a walk in the park.

bluenosesaint · 02/07/2008 23:53

Mmmm i've tried that spidermama - have tried leaving it longer and longer between washes (and you're right, twas not a good look ) but it didn't make it any better.

How long doing this until you can see results? I did it for about a month and then got totally fed up of looking like an extra out of the Adams family

I think I noticed results after about six weeks but it was a minging six weeks for all concerned. Then I never washed it for over a year and it was lovely and glossy. Then I started to wear my cool hat which threw a spanner in the works again and made it waxy and smelly. Now I wash it every 2-3 days and it's fine.

It also depends on the water. We have hard water in Brighton and combined with the endless sunshine and sea air it gets pretty dry, which is a result for the oleagenous amongst us.

Purplepillow · 02/07/2008 23:57

I think you have to leave it for about 6-8 weeks for it to work..... no way I could bo that as I could fry chips in my hair after 2 days

bluenosesaint · 02/07/2008 23:58

Me too!

StressTeddy · 02/07/2008 23:58

over a year???

Purplepillow · 02/07/2008 23:59

*no way I could do that (obviously)

bluenosesaint · 03/07/2008 00:01

Ewwwww ...pregnancy it is then!

The pill works for me - I get four days out of my hair IYSWIM if I take the pill - pregnancy made my hair last a week to ten days sorry couldn't resist.. otherwise I wash every two/three days and use a clip / grip to pull it back if I can't wash it - I sort of back comb / scrunch it so it doesn't look so 'sticky'. Dry heave

That dry stuff sounds fab. So does the sea air.
