I would like to curl my hair, but have never done anything like this before. I dont use any hair products, but fancy a bit of a curl. Mnet, please give me advise!!

so the score is that I have dead straight, quite fine shoulder length hair. I quite fancy playing about with having wavy hair for a bit.

But I have NO idea how to do this? Do you use curlers, rollers, some other weird curling device? I would buy something (I can always sell them if I dont like it), but nothing too pricey.

Do I need to use some kind of hair product? Like what?

How do you even do it? At night? In the morning? How long does it take?

You could try loosly plaiting you hair in small bunches when wet, then either let dry naturally or blow dry.

It will produce loose curls then you could add a touch of hairspray to stop them from dropping.

i have also been wanting to this, my hair is thick and wavy , not sure how to do it without looking like Meatloaf!

Heated rollers are the way to go imo.

so how do you use heated rollers? is there any particular brand that is any good?

Heated rollers are good, but the plaiting is much less hassle (and better for your hair).

Leave your hair until it's just damp, then plait and leave for a few hours.

I did this today, and it looks rather nice (though I say so myself).

Hair straighteners can get good curls imo but maybe too expensive ?

My daughter likes to curl her hair. We got very good results by tying her hair up in rags (she looked like a Victorian orphan) and now have some bendy curlers from Superdrug. They were cheap and, when they're in, the multi-coloured curlers make her look like Upsy Daisy. Quite a good look if you're six, but maybe less so for an adult!

I found GHD's do good curls, use them like old curling tongs.

I am exactly the same ratbunny, same hair and would love curls. I've considered heated rollers and never known what type to buy or how to use them.

i cant use heated rollers they never work on my hair for some reason! i use sponge rollers on wet hair with gel spray but you would need to put them in first thing on a morning as it takes hours for you hair to dry in them.

i always blow dry my hair so its damp not sopping wet then just wind them in. i alternate winding one upwards and then one downwards. if its too curly ill spray it slightly with a water spray then tip my head upside down and blast with a dryer. they give loose random curls but if its ringlets your after i use tongs with a guide wire on. carmen girls fir kids do some and they dont cost much.

oh sponge rollers are squashy too so you can put them in before you go to bed and they are comfy enough to sleep in!

ghd's make great curls. Especially great if your going out.. you can do really tight ringlet style or just beach waves ... they do lots of different things just have to experiment!
