How can I achieve swishy gorgeous hair? Please help a bedraggled mum get her oomph back!

I'm coming up to 40, and my god, the last 3-4 years have got me looking bedraggled!

Working on a few things, but next on my hit list is my hair.
It is about mid-length (past the shoulders, around bra strap band level). It's really fine, but (for the time being) I still have quite a bit of hair.

I am starting to get small grey patches and while I know it's a normal part of aging, I wasn't quite ready for it yet and thought it may have started a bit later. Generally, its natural colour (sans greys) is dark blonde/light brown with some copper/red/strawberry undertones to it.

My hair isn't quite straight but it's not curly either, so always just looks a bit frizzy and unkempt. It definitely has some sort of wave to it.

Kicker is, I've got a really sever PPD allergy, so any conventional hair dying will send me to A&E.

I feel it's changed quite a bit in the last 5-6 years and not in a good way, but I can't quite put my finger on what/why except for aging....

Please help me S&B gurus - what can I do to get some oomph back into my hair and get it nice and shiny and swishy?

I’d invest in a really good cut on a regular basis. K18 is a great leave-in conditioner treatment that helps prevent frizziness. And I’d also recommend Biotin - I had some hair loss through stress a few years back and it really helped x

If you can find products from Macadamia Natural Oil hair range they are amazing

Even my long dry menopausal hair is looking shiny!

Would you have any advice on a good cut @RiverRed ?
I ask as I can't really find pictures for my specific hair type and all the stuff online feels like something my actual hair would never achieve, so any guidance would be amazing!|

@jackstini i'm going to try have a google and see what I could find! Do you find it gives it a shine but doesn't weigh it down? My fine hair can get super greasy quickly.

I really wish I could just get new hair!

Do you usually dry your hair with heat or do you air dry? I've found I can make my hair look amazing with the colour wow dream coat and a blow dry but I don't always have time. If I air dry its 50/50 if it looks lovely and wavy or a frizzy mess so I have colour wow pop and lock serum which I can use to smooth the frizz on the way to work.

Maybe go light on the oil spray, but they do have a range for fine hair I think - shampoo and conditioner could work

The masque is my favourite

My hair sounds similar both in length and texture. I wore it one length for years thinking it would be more manageable but was finally persuaded by my hairdresser to get some long layers and it’s made it look both thicker (and swishier!). It’s also now much more manageable. I’m sure your hairdresser can advise. If you don’t have a good one maybe google for highly-reviwed great cutters in your area. I also swear by the Babyliss Big Brush - could not live without it!
