Athleisure wear and workout wear recommendations

I’m a 60 year old female who has started a health kick.

I’m 5’ 3’’ and weigh 12.5 stone so I’ve a long way to go to get down to my desired weight.

ATM I live my life in baggy joggers and sweats as I’m retired and dont/didn’t get out that much. I am very bottom heavy. I’d say a size 16 top and 18 bottom.

im looking for athleisure wear that looks smart on a day to day basis and also workout clothes ( but strictly no leggings, I hate them) I need to cover my bum as I am so conscious of it’s size. I have started going to the gym (strength training) and also to yoga and long walks but also looking for smart practical clothing for day to day wear as, atm, I just feel like a slob in my joggers.

Definitely need some new clothes to suit but don’t know where to start.

What exactly are you doing? Gym weights work, cardio classes or running? It really depends on the activity what is best to wear. I get too hot for joggers so have to wear sweat wicking leggings.

im not worried about gym wear ( weight training) but some nice modern outfits for Yoga and just everyday wear would be good.

Sweaty Betty has good “daywear” athleisure stuff as well a gym kit.

This time last year I was 13 stone and 5'2". I joined a gym programme for people with joint problems, there were around 10 females in the group, all of us quite overweight and mostly 60+. For our workouts which were mainly weight training, most of us wore gym leggings, mostly black, with a longer length top. Joggers are too hot and limit movement in yoga. If you don't like close fitting leggings there are wider legged yoga pants and boot cut styles. Bam, the Bamboo clothing line have nice stuff, plenty of ruched styles and some nice longer tops, though mine seem to need ironing. Sweaty Betty are good as the garments are very stretchy and if you buy fairly snug they will see you through weight loss.
I'm now 9 stone and my last purchase was leopard print cycling shorts, exercise really helps.
