I need an outfit for a January wedding and could do with some help. I want something stylish that I can hopefully wear again - perhaps a skirt and blouse. Perhaps satin? The bride doesn't want anyone to wear anything vaguely Christmassy.
Or trousers if they're ok for wedding wear. I've looked at lots of dresses and don't like anything. I'm short, size 6 and suit navy, plum, teal, emerald. The skirt must be full, not a pencil skirt and any top myst have long sleeves as I'm always cold. I've trawled the internet and am hoping someone will think of something I haven't! Open to any ideas!

I always wear trouser, not dresses or skirts, to functions. I have evening trousers in black and navy. I also have camisole and beaded chiffon jackets sets in black and navy. Easy peasy. Maybe a tuxedo and trousers with a fancy top? You could take the jacket off when you warm up.

When you say you’ve looked at lots of dresses, have you tried any on?

I’ve recently had to shop for two wedding outfits. Spent months trawling the internet looking at them and dismissing them. Went for a personal stylist session at John Lewis and liked lots of them once I tried them on! Ended up with two that I struggled to choose between 😂

The pussy bow satiny shirts are back in...I always think they look a bit office wear though but then I've just posted a silk shirt which I suppose is similar.

Have a look at Aspiga, I love their velvet evening trousers (and just wish I was invited to events to wear them!)

Thanks for the suggestions. Velvet is out as too Christmassy unfortunately. A silk shirt and nice trousers might work. I don't want to spend a fortune either on the outfit or having to have alterations so petite sizing would make life easier!
