Anyone had botox/filler(?) for mouth lines?

Am 42 and lost a significant amount of weight since 2021 (well into triple figures) and whilst I have always been completely adamant I would age gracefully and naturally these lines are really getting me down.

I am booked in Mid Nov for a consult with a highly recommended practitioner (2 month wait for appointments) but keep dithering about it. I was really hoping I would have gotten a cancellation appointment by now so I don't back out 😅

Has anyone had treatments for that sort of thing?

Just bumping this for you, @ReeceShearsmithLivesInHull . Hopefully someone will be along soon who's done this and has some advice for you. Well done on the weight loss though! Hope you find a solution you're happy with.

No but my friend has and it looks fab
I would but no spare cash atm for this but if I could do, then I absolutely would do!

princesspadam · 28/10/2026 13:28

Which lines specifically?

Idontjetwashthefucker · 28/10/2026 13:30

Marionette lines? If so, yes...best thing I've ever done

managingexpectations · 28/10/2026 13:33

a couple of my colleagues have had this theirs were for “smokers” lines one looked great and very natural the other was very obvious and while it didn’t look terrible it just looked very “done” and this was because they didn’t do their research and just opted for the cheapest practitioner.
it sounds like your chosen practitioner should be a good choice if they’re so in demand. Ask to see pictures of their work and how they achieved the results.

Sandybeachbums · 28/10/2026 18:46

If you mean smokers lines, I’ve just had mine done recently. I’m 46. Absolutely thrilled with the results as it is incredibly natural and I don’t look ‘done’ at all.
I had 0.7ml of Juvederm injected over the space of 4 weeks. It’s smoothed the lines and lifted my vermilion border so subtly without any pouting or unnatural lip shape.

I too went to a highly regarded practitioner rather than having it done at a beauty salon.

Paid a bit more as a result but worth every penny as the lines were really bothering me and making me feel self conscious.

Go for it. They can always dissolve it again if you don’t like the results.

MyManinCaracas · 28/10/2026 19:12

I’ve had a Botox lip flip which has given me more of an upper lip and helped smooth out a couple of smokers lines. It’s very subtle but I like it a lot.

I’m so curious about this and very keen but the swelling afterwards makes me worry - I’d want to keep it a bit of a secret from judgmental family members. Was it obvious? Xx

Sandybeachbums · 28/10/2026 20:43

@ChristmasRager The swelling was very minimal as he did the filler very conservatively - 0.3ml at the first session then 0.4ml a month later.
I noticed it more than anyone around me!

After the second dose there was a bit of discomfort the following day and my top lip did look ever so slightly swollen but certainly not obvious. I didn’t have a trout pout at any point in the process!

Notagoodlookreally · 28/10/2026 20:47

Ive had filler in my marionette lines...really liked the results

Charlenedickens · 28/10/2026 20:55

Yes posted this a couple of times, I’m 57, the filler in my nasio labial folds and marionette lines, I’m very pleased with, very natural looking, see image below,

I’ve also had Botox for my forehead and elevens, so just two places, because it’s important tontreat the whole face, but the Botox is very lite, she underdosed, so my forehead still moves and has lines, but much much less than before, so you’d not know unless you compared before and afters.

I’m not having anything else done, I have left my eyes and crows feet, I quite like the fact rhey wrinkle when I laugh, and I don’t want a smooth appearance, there is nothing worse than overdone Botox and a shiny frozen forehead,

I also lost weight, so the work simply replaced the volume I lost mainly due to age and some sagging, I’d thoroughly recommend,

That looks spectacular Charlene! Thanks for posting. I haven’t had anything at all and am very wary of Botox / filler, much of which I don’t just think looks obvious, but I almost wonder if it’s so common now that some people want it to or don’t mind it looking obvious?! In any case, I’m starting to look jowly and am feeling more tempted than I ever have been. Quite a few recent convert Botox friends… 😬 🤔

dollyblue01 · 29/10/2026 20:46

I’d try a lip flip first with botox , before going down the filler route, it only lasts around 3 months so no big deal
if it doesn’t help.

I’m not sure, I think it’s very common, I was looking at images of Olivia Coleman, and she’s absolutely had facial fillers done as well as Botox, personally I think she looks great. She’s no marionette lines or nasolabial folds, which doesn’t happen naturally in your 50s.

You can see it in this image, I recognise it as mine is similar, is it obvious, yes if you know what you’re looking for, is it unnatural looking, overdone or puffy, no,

I had lip filler for “smokers lines” ( didn’t even have a quick one behind the bike sheds when I was at school!) . I am absolutely delighted .. 2 yrs later then still effective but have also been doing microneedling which helps hugely

Ooo interesting. And what a beautiful picture of Olivia Coleman

Traceysgoingtobelivid · 29/10/2026 23:20

I’ve had Botox regularly for my forehead and last year decided I would have the downward lines around my mouth treated that were making me look sad, worse thing I ever did, my face looked fine at rest and I lost the downward mouth look, however when I smiled it was crooked, even worse when I laughed (I had to cover my mouth I was so embarrassed) I couldn’t drink properly and dribbled, this lasted for about 4 months, never again!

DazzlingDachshund2601 · 29/10/2026 23:36

Filler is best for deep lines and creases. If you have fine mouth lines or fine facial lines in general have a look at skinvive by Juvaderm. It's a hyloraunic injectable that will smooth but also brighten.

Idontjetwashthefucker · 30/10/2026 19:34

I've posted this before but I'm very happy with mine
