I have see a couple of videos where people wear the sleeveless one, I think, underneath their jackets etc as an extra layer. Does it work well enough to keep you warm, for example, under a leather jacket?

I haven't got the Uniqlo one but I've got something very similar. Mine has sleeves and is quite slim fitting and yes, I'm wearing it at the moment under tweed jackets and lightweight coats and it works well. In fact this is the only way I wear it as I don't particularly like it on its own but it extends the life of some of my other outerwear.

You probably need to try it on with the coats / jackets you want to wear it with to make sure the necklines don't fight each other.

I do this. I have a lightweight waterproof sort of coat for the school run that isn't that warm but in the winter I have one of these under it. I'm walking so don't want to get overheated with a thick coat.

I have the Uniqlo gilet. The collar has poppers so it can be fastened down, therefore works with most different necklines. I find it very useful for keeping my body warm while still
being able to move my arms and not making my coats look ridiculous!

I have the gilet and the jacket and they work perfectly for layering, esp as on mine you can popper it to have a v neck. Not very exciting on its own, but I do find them ideal for taking on a long day out when I’ll want a warm layer in the evening as they compact up so neatly

I have the Uniqlo puffer vest, it’s very slim and yes fits underneath a coat and gives another layer of warmth.

I do this but with an ancient Primark one, I bought DP the Uniqlo gilet as well.

I find them warmer than a thick coat because it’s closer to your body and it creates an air gap. Also means you can turn any coat into a winter coat

Mine is just the thin lightweight down but yes, it really works well as an extra layer under coats and jackets to keep you warm. I've had mine for years now and would rebuy it something happened to it.

My sister has one and I had to use it last weekend when it was bitter cold due to rhe storms. PP is right that it can turn any light autumn coats into winter one. I wouldn't wear it to show as top layer once outermost layer is off as I dont like the gillet look but definitely considering getting one myself.

Yes they work really well, I had a project which was on site over winter and it made sitting in an unheated room for meetings mid Jan almost bearable.
