Shapewear to go with this dress

I will be wearing this dress on the weekend. I'm rather more curvy & lumpy than the model in the picture so whilst I love how it looks on, I can't just wear my normal knickers as it is very fitted around my hips/bum.

I haven't bought any shapewear for years so no longer have anything that fits. I need to get something ideally from M&S, Next or Amazon (need it by Thursday) that helps shape my bum and tummy without mega VPL and allows me to go to the loo without too much hassle.

Thank you. Going to pop in town shortly so will look out for this and give it a try.

I don't have a multiway bra but when I tried it one I was able to just slip the strap down on the dropped side with a new bra that's perfectly fitted so think that will be ok.

As a side note, I also bought one which had little shoulder straps because I was worried the one above would roll down. It was a body suit type with studs in the crotch and an absolute PITA to try to re clip after going to the loo. I'm fairly flexible, but it was a yoga workout trying to get it all sorted, whilst also holding up my dress in the toilet cubicle- so I wouldn't recommend one like that at all!

I'd have thought spanx type cycle shorts best. It's not particularly fitted on the model, is yours tighter (talk of vpl)?. Would a bigger size be better?

Nice dress

😂I'd actually kind of already discounted the full body one for that reason after I recalled wearing a body suit under my clothes in New York (thought it would be more comfortable than a standard vest top with the all other winter layers I had on). I'm never going to forget the ways in which I had to contort my body just to try and reach all the poppers so I could re-secure it after a wee. It was a full body workout and exhausting. Think my DH nearly sent a search party out. Given that I'll be wearing it all day/evening at an event with drinks flowing, I don't need that sort of headache.

The model, stunning as she is, has significantly less shape than my size 12 mum body has. As as I said, it is tighter on my hips and bum than hers but fits perfectly. I actually can't wait to wear it because I felt so good in it, I just can't wear my normal undies with it and would quite like my bit of belly sucked in a bit.

In my experience wearing shapewear to suck you in is a sure fire to ruin an evening. If you're going to wear it for smoothing purposes, size up.

Love the dress, by the way.

I have that dress in two other colours. Wore the navy to a wedding recently. Love it!

I also cannot seem to find a strapless or multiway bra that flatters, so tucked my bra strap in!

I also can’t abide shapewear knickers (too restrictive!), so wore a ‘wear your own bra’ shaper slip thingie and also tucked the strap. Held up OK all night and did the job.

My one is a firm control one from Next which I think is discontinued (helpful!) but it’s along these lines:
