Plastic-free alternative to Uniqlo corduroy volume trousers

I was really excited about these trousers before I realised they were pure plastic! I’ve have been searching for an alternative either in 100% cotton or with a bit of elastane which is hard to avoid.

Help me find wide, pleated, corduroy trousers in warm light brown, camel or honey colour. Everything I find has either no pleats or is wrong colour.

Could you post a link please? Sorry don’t fancy trawling the Uniqlo site :)

Oh no - all viscose! Maybe a bit better?

These Arket ones are 100% cotton but sold out. Maybe try a Vinted or eBay search?

It’s better, at least it doesn’t shed microplastics and they would be perfect but unfortunately they are only on M&S UK, I don’t see them on my local site 💩

When I want to buy things from the US (I’m UK) I use Stackry as my US address and then arrange a forwarding service, it’s great! Only thing is you kind of have to give up on the idea of returns.

I found them! They weren’t showing when I browsed trousers but popped up after I put the exact phrase into the search box. Thank you!

These are really nice and I don’t have to go through FarFetch. Thank you for the tip!

I got my wide leg cords (flat fronted, brown) from the Toast Reworn site. It's very random but worth stalking. You can also return them if they're not right.

There’s much more choice in flat-fronted ones, I specifically wanted the extra volume with pleats.

Yeah I saw too late that you’d said pleated, sorry!

It’s still worth keeping an eye on Toast Reworn for pleated though, they resell all sorts although it’s very unpredictable - doesn’t change for weeks and then they’ll get a load of fresh stock.

Viscose isn’t plastic - it’s a plant based fabric.

Oh good - I hope they work for you!

I am still searching for a gorgeous green print Essentiel Antwerp skirt that sold out in my size last year ... I am ever hopeful the style gods will pass it my way on eBay/Vinted some day soon!

I saw & liked those too (especially as they're organic cotton). The stitched-down pleats at the top wouldn't work for me personally though.
