Can you tell me what bra to wear under this dress?

Hi all, I am hoping you can help!

I rarely venture on to the style threads as I have no style 😁

But i have a lovely evening wedding to go to soon and have bought this dress

https://www.next.co.uk/style/su903238/e39295

The issue is, if you look under her arms, there's a bit of a space and you can see my bra (any of them, ive tried a lot)

I am a 36 F so they're not tiny and I definitely need a bra.

Does anyone have any ideas? Thank you 🥰

Lovely dress. I have the same issue and it's because being larger busted, the side of the bra is considerably bigger and is always going to show. If you compare to a 36c cup for example, the sides will be smaller. I don't think there is a solution. I have had one dress altered at the arm hole as it was very gapey, which improved things, but not completely.

Any chance of finding a bra in a similar colour so it merges in. Or a skin toned ones.

Gorgeous dress!

I had a red dress that did this and I must have ordered almost every red bra on the planet until I found one that "matched". Having said that, the dress was lacy so it was easier to disguise a red lacy bra.

Have you bought it in the rust colour?

Any chance you could get one to match your skin tone?

This bra looks like it has lower sides?

Yes, I have bought it in the rust colour.

I will look for a rust bra, I didn't think of that! Hmm will have a google.

Thanks - I do love the dress.

Gorgeous dress.

How about a thin strap vest in the same colour as the dress? It might be easier to find than a matching bra and you could wear your usual bra underneath. The fabric would need to be quite thin and slinky.

Maybe this could work: https://www.next.co.uk/style/su666255/v77381

Good call!

You are going about this the wrong way around.

When you have DD+ cups, you buy a bra that you can wear all day without being in pain whilst giving you the best possible figure, and then buy a dress that works with the bra.

There's no way that 32F is going under that Lipsy dress without sideboob showing and visible bra. The "two peas on an ironing board" model is almost showing sideboob.

So return the dress, get an ace bra, and go dress shopping again.

Brilliant! I didn't even think of that!

For now, I have found a 2 pack of m&s bras I bought for my holiday and only wore once, one is nude and the side is quite low. I just tried it on and dh said he couldn't see the side of the bra or the strap. So fingers crossed it'll be OK!

I don't think I will wear a chain/necklace as it comes quite high up at the neck? But have got some statement earrings and a wee gold hair slide, gold shoes and bag so hopefully it'll all pull together in the end.

Thanks so much for the help & advice!

Boob tape, backless, strapless bra. Lots of options out there for tricky dresses and work on larger chests

My norks clearly haven't read that memo. I'm luxky just to find bras that don't hurt.

I mean, mine aren't gigantic but bigger than average, I usually wear a 32 D or E and nood tape held mine all day and night at an Indian wedding and there was a lot of bouncing and dancing and jumping. I was pleasantly surprised.

D isn't all that big. Also, sagginess is a factor. Twenty year old me in 32DD is a radically different proposition from late-forties me in 32F, not just because of two cup sizes, but because gravity has taken its toll and what used to pass the pencil test can now keep the entire stationary cupboard up.
