I have no idea where to start! Which are the best brands, easiest to use and best priced?

No recommendations, but are you good at eyeliner? I bought a recommended brand - years ago - then realised I had to be able to make a neat-looking line really close to the natural lashes. Fail One. When I finally got them on, slightly wonky, they felt like they weighed a ton. Within half an hour, they started falling off. Fail Two and over!

I can't see how they're any kind of improvement over glued lashes.

I tried the Lola lashes and a cheap pack off eBay. Probably preferred the cheap pack as they’re not as heavy. I’m not good at eyeliner and found I had to do quite a thick line to get them to stick . Then I had to cover that line with a lot of eye shadow and liner so I only use them around Xmas time as I don’t wear a lot of eye makeup any other time of the year . That being said if you get them to stick well initially they don’t tend to budge

I’m absolutely not good at eye liner!

Oh I think she means the one where there are 2 lashes and you clip them to your own lashes . I have some and can I hell get them on.
