Can I wear boots with this dress? Plus size

I have this dress for a special event we have coming up, I am a size 18. We will be outside for some time and I have a smart warm jacket and thick tights to wear. Can I wear boots with it? If so what length? I have chunky legs so would need a wide fit. Or if not what would you suggest? Need something comfy-ish for standing around. I’m not great at dressing smartly! Any advice gratefully received.

Course you can. I have the Hotter quilted suede knee ones, elastic side panel - in burgundy. They will look great with that dress.

Ooh I have some lovely silver and copper jewellery to wear too, so the brown would work I think
