I'm 40 and have lost my way and confidence since becoming a mum. I have no style whatever, spending most of my time in leggings, jumpers and big coats at this time of year.

I struggle massively with what to wear on the odd occasion I do go out and with something planned for the next couple of weeks, am feeling increasingly anxious.

I'm 5'3, size 8-10 and need a smart casual outfit or two. Prefer to have my legs covered with trousers or tights this time of year. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thank you so much. Xx

You need simple black trousers, you can dress them up with a blouse, shirt or fitted jumper, also a midi skirt with boots can look lovely. What shape are you, what are your best bits, what colours do you like.

Leggings, jumper and a big coat is the height of fashion right now. You just need to ‘elevate’ them.

A good pair of stirrup trousers (not too thin) with pointy shoes in some sort of texture - faux leopard skin, crocodile, fur, etc. A shrunken mohair t shirt and an enormous furry jacket. May not take you to a wedding but would be fine for most casual evenings out.
