Did anyone else give up on hair?

Have a bob. Chin length and to be fair its a beautiful cut and when I add a few waves to it it looks lovely. However to get it looking its best I have to wash in the morning then blow dry and style. This though takes ages in a morning with 3 kids to get ready for school, packed lunches etc its becoming hard work. Part of me wants to just grow it out so I can throw it up but part of me loves having the bob but just not the maintenance. Has anyone else thought sod it and given up.

I wish I dare but look dreadful if my hair is not styled every day.

Well yes, sod it and leave it alone is my general approach to hair. But I don’t see why you can’t leave it as a bob and just style it nicely whenever you do have time or inclination, and let it just be hair in the interim. It doesn’t have to look its best every day for every day stuff.
There are a few easy up styles for bobbed hair - I got a rash of them on Facebook recently when I inadvertently clicked on one. They wouldn’t take more than a min or two, if you wanted an interim option. I don’t think it has to be “up” or “styled”.

Could you clip back the sides or wear some sort of fancy hairband?

I grew out my bob as it really needed ‘doing’ every day. I grew it longer and added a few long layers and it’s really low maintenance.

I have my hair long. I never style it. I wash it once a week and brush it a few times a week 😬

I’ve got quite a lot of hair, the texture is best described as bushy, so I can’t go short or mid-length cause it would need styling and I’m too ham-fisted and lazy to style my own hair. Also only have to go to the hairdresser 2 or 3 times a year so maintenance is inexpensive.

Yes, longer hair much easier to manage than shorter hair for me.

I have a bixie. It’s awesome. The messier it is the better it looks. I do have curly hair and have had super long to a more recent bob (so I hear your pain). I used to look like I’d escaped from the asylum with the bob- but with the bixie I just wet spray it and leave the house. I bloody love it!

Longer hair is easier I think, mine is also wavy, I wash scrunch with some wavy hair gel stuff and leave, works well for me
