Fitted suits

I tried on a blue velvet suit in Zadig and Voltaire today. It was very nice, maybe nice enough to buy (although not cheap!) but before I fork out the cash I wondered if there are any other good fitted suits out there? I liked this one because it was nice enough to wear out somewhere fancy pants but also could work for work. It was almost perfect but I would prefer a slightly more fitted jacket. Z&V suit

Any thoughts?

My treat to myself this winter is a blue velvet suit. I haven't found the perfect thing yet, but I LOVE this one. In fact, I've been looking for about two months, and this is by far the nicest one I've seen.

I think you're right - it's almost perfect, but the jacket isn't quite as defined as I'd choose either, but actually, that works here, I think.

The more I look at it, the more I love it, and I think this is the one for me, which possibly doesn't help you! I'm not overly concerned that I've made a decision on this so quickly...like I said, I've been searching for months so I've already eliminated several.

Maybe my search (we seem to like the same thing) and enthusiasm is sort-of helpful!?

It is helpful! I won’t need much to push me over the edge and I must say it felt delicious on!

I might go there. But I do wish the jacket were slightly more fitted. I think that is will go slightly up a size with the trousers (both 36 and 38 fitted but I worry that the 36 is in danger of relaxing into a distinctive camel toe which is vibrant in velvet!) so would have liked the more fitted jacket to offset that and give it shape.

I don’t think it looks good on the model - trousers look ill fitting (weird folds and wrong length with the trainers?) and the jacket too long and shapeless

but the trouser shape with the flare rather than straight and the colour are lovely so I can imagine they would look better when tried on! Agree it could be dressed up or down.

Maybe its the colour but its a bit too early naughties russell brand for me. Which is a shame because i think velvet suits are lovely.

Oh my god what a hideous thought, that's put me right off! 😂
