Best detangling comb/brush for very long, super thick hair?

DD’s hair is waist length and super thick, she struggles with mats and knots every time she washes it. She uses conditioner and says she tries to brush it through her hair before rinsing (won’t let me help). I think a wide toothed comb is better . Does anyone have a recommendation for something that’s worked for them please?

Mine is now using my mason Pearson as it’s the best for her similar hair. Apparently

I use an afro comb very carefully, a brush doesn't go through my hair.
My hair isn't very thick or very wavy but very brush resistant.
A detangling brush will go through it but it's unpleasant to use.

I have very thick hair and have always struggled to get a brush through it. I bought a curly hair brush like the one I've linked and it works like a charm and you can put it through wet hair.

A Tangle Teezer on wet hair with some leave in conditioner. Also put it in a plait at night.

Tangle Teezer. They do one specially for thick hair too.

We actually have this brush and it doesn’t touch her tangles at all.

Another vote for a 'Tangle Teezer' 🪮. They design them specifically for different hair types too.

I’ve also read that plaiting hair helps before bed does anyone do that?

Either a plait or a twisted up bun on the top of the head works well.

Use a leave in conditioner on soaking wet hair, partition it using clips and detangle using a standard narrow tooth comb, starting at the bottom and working upwards.
She needs to wear a silk bonnet and tie her up so it doesn't tangle.

Olivia Garden fingerbrush or tangle teezer. Definitely nothing rigid like a comb.
Brush from the ends of each bit of hair rather than the top. Doing it with conditioner in helps.

Look up pop brush - it's amazing. Far far better than a tangle teezer!

There’s no way she’ll wear a bonnet I can’t even get her to try a silk pillowcase. She’s autistic and has sensory issues.
