Looking for a new foundation, 50 and pale

BreezyClouds · Today 13:31

Looking for a long lasting medium coverage foundation. Currently on Armani and it's ok but doesn't last.

I have tried the lighter tints like Eborian and I'm not at all keen.

I'm 50, a few fine lines, redness around chin and nose. Quite pale and neutral. I want a nice coverage, not matt or shiny, that lasts well.

Any suggestions?

I really rate Victoria Beckham the drops, coverage is good, she says last 12 hours but I find it lasts much longer,

Following - I'm currently looking for something similar.
Tried a couple and don't love either of them yet - I'm pretty oily.

The Glossier stretch foundation is really lovely and is light to medium coverage.

Another advocate for the VB Foundation drops, amazing!

What about tinted moisturiser? I use that.

Edit - ok I just googled as it sounded like it is drops you mix with something, but actually it looks like it's a regular foundation? But light coverage and £104!!

I really like Lisa Eldridge’s skin tint.

Nars All Day Radiant. I use Mont Blanc but there are even paler shades. You can apply very lightly or as full coverage. It stays on all day and has a non matte, but not shiny healthy looking finish. I've been wearing it without powder but with setting spray.

It’d buildable, so I find it medium coverage, unless you apply a very small amount, she calls it light but buildable,

it leaves your skin looking like your skin but perfect, sort of glowy.

it’s called drops as it’s a thinner consistency, not as it’s mixable. I dot mine on my face from the bottle then blend with a foundation brush, 8-10 drops, depending on coverage, it also contains fantastic skin care,Augustine bader tfc, so it actually improves your skin by wearing it,

I swear I don’t work for them lol, just I’ve tried all the foundations, and hands down this is genuinely the best, it sort of sinks in and leaves behind a sort of veil coverage that makes your skin look amazing, and my skin looks better for using it,

I've heard good stuff about the VB drops, I'd definitely consider it but not risk buying without trying first at that price, need to find a stockist. Selfridge's maybe?

Nars is probably a good shout, they do some proper pale shades.

I've got a trip to the Trafford centre tomorrow, I absolutely hate beauty counters but needs must!

Thank you

The new Fenty beauty one is good. I am always the palest shade in any foundation but in this the lightest is slightly too light and I bought one shade down, although I probably can wear either.

Thereisatimeandaplace · Today 21:16

I’m a huge fan of HydraTint by Sculpted by Aimee. It’s as light as a tinted moisturiser but gives really good coverage and lasts a good work day, and is dewy.

Shloopie · Today 21:18

Nars Light Reflecting foundation. I'm pale and I use shade Oslo.

Sarkyandcynical · Today 21:22

As a fellow pale middle-ager, I second the recommendation for Lisa Eldridge skin tint. I’ve heard great things about the VB one as well and am hoping to try that next if I can bring myself to spend that much and the colour match is good for me.

CleverlyBeery · Today 21:30

I've been trying a Nars in Mont Blanc and it's slightly too pale/yellowy for me. I suspect it's not the luminous one though. I find it slightly patchy.

I'd go and get as many samples as you can - things are better now than shortly after COVID when there were no samples to be seen!

I want to try the Fenty but no-one was on the counter when I made the trip, so will try it next time. The VB one sounds miraculous too!

Pale and late 40's here, switched to Clinique Even Better and haven't looked back. Great buildable coverage and is neither too dewy or too matte.
