VINTED AAARRRGGHHH why bother?

Has anyone managed to break out of the Sisyphean Kafkaesque hell that is Vinted (UK) so called ‘customer service’ when it has locked down your account?

I had a new card issued by my bank as my old one was compromised, the e-version worked immediately for tap n pay and I remembered or was prompted to update a couple of retail accounts with regular payments so they continued.

Not Vinted. Oh no. They have shut it down and I’m in a regular loop of emails where ‘they’ repeatedly ask for a photo of my now long-gone destroyed card, I explain unless they have a Time Machine, that is impossible, I then share a bank statement with requested details as per their alleged ‘help sheet’ which is ignored and instead a new ‘person’ sends me another ask for my non-existent card……

The responses are so robotic, they are clearly (bad) AI, and they don’t answer questions.

Has anyone else got out of this? Does anyone know how to get this looked at by a real person who can actually read and understand? Or how to escalate to a complaint? I have a few hundred 5* reviews so I really don’t want to start again (and can’t anyway as I would need a brand new mobile phone number to do so it seems)

AAARGHHH!!!!!

Who knew eBay would suddenly look more attractive!!!!

Have you tried saying ‘speak to a human’ to every response? Usually you eventually get through to someone that way for other companies

Possible stupid question.... can you remove that card from the Payment Options list, and then add the new card as a new payment card?

Or do you mean your whole account is locked because your card was reported to them as compromised?

Thanks both! So in every email reply I ask to speak to a more senior human which doesn’t happen…..and they don’t seem to have a phone number/customer helpline? And yes, I am totally locked out of all access to anything and having to rely on the email chain 😟.

Ive heard lots about how awful Vinted now is, but hadn’t experienced that myself until now.

The only saving grace is that I don’t have too much of my sales money locked in to the account - which I now cannot access. I mean, it is my own money in the account, I just can’t believe they are so awful when individuals own money is involved… a bank wouldn’t get away with this, why do Vinted think they can?

I had something similar recently when my email address was an old account that I couldn’t access. Several emails all asking for the same thing! Eventually an actual person replied and I had to send a bank statement with a Vinted transaction on. I had already sent one but sent another one and it was resolved instantly once a person actually dealt with it. Took over a week of back and forward emails.
