I need some wearable shoes to pair with a long dress at the races and then a back tie ball.

They to be flat as I have arthritis in my toe and would like to wear back tights. I’m not bothered about them being a perfect for for the out fit more just not to look like work shoes :)

Why are you wearing a long dress to the races? No one does this. Especially in October. Just wear a coat and trousers/top to the races. Pair with any comfortable shoes. Black tie? M&S have lovely ballet shoes in suede at the moment. I find them comfortable. Save the black tie dress for the black tie event.

Er no! I go racing all the time. You don’t wear a long dress in the autumn. Maybe a few might in summer - more of a high summer vibe when there’s a concert afterwards. Even then, casual. Anyone wearing a long dress now would look very very odd. You wear a trouser suit, a dress and coat, a knit and trousers: just winter day wear. It’s not an evening or black tie event. Do you want to stand out in a wrong way? Assuming you are in the uk of course! No idea what Australians do for example but here, no black tie or long dresses.

Thanks @MeetMeOnTheCorner! Those outfits are gorgeous.

I wore a black knitted mini dress and brown cowboy boots and a short taupe coat, black and gold accessories (belt bag jewellery) I looked inconspicuous .

There was a mix of floral dresses and country tweeds.
