Hi all

off to Cheltenham for the three day festival next month.
just wanted to ask if a black coat isn't "Cheltenham" enough for the racing? I have a brown checked coat also which might be more apt but don't want to come across as too hard!
im torn between slim brown trousers too rather than a green long sleeve dress I have?
any opinions/advice welcome!!!

Hi. I go to nearly every meeting. There are loads of women who wear a type of uniform: Holland Cooper. Or white jeans with Spanish riding boots and a fitted jacket. So - avoid looking like a cliche. Black coat? Why not? I’d team it with grey or burgundy personally. Brown check is just fine - as long as it’s not HC! If its not, great. Wear with brown trousers. Dress ok but I personally prefer trousers. Knits such as polo necks work well or a round neck with a scarf. Lots of women wear fedora hats with a feather trim. Check the weather though. If it’s raining, the walk from any car park is exposed.

Where are you when you are in the course? Restaurant or outside in the Club/Grandstand? Bars get busy if it’s wet. Hope you have a good time.

Thank you for your advice @MeetMeOnTheCorner Definitely not HC clothing! I have a burgundy hat which I love so think I'll wear that and as you suggested brown trousers with a knit as appreciate it's going to be cold and wet!
We will be in Club enclosure & Guinness grandstand
Really looking forward to it

If you want to stand nearer the finish for a race or two, go and see the horses in the parade ring and then go into the covered steps of the club viewing area by the owners and trainers steps. I quite like it there. But you should have a seat in the Guinness area?

Yes we will have a guaranteed seat, but will definitely do that too! Thanks so much
