Comfy work shoes

I need a pair of comfy shoes that go with barrel leg and wide leg work trousers (think the classic Uniqlo sort of trousers). I’d like them to work through winter, my feet are wide ish but not wide enough for wide fit shoes. I want them for presenting at events where trainers are just too casual.
Ballet shoes are probably not going to last through winter but I do like the look of them the best 🙈
All suggestions welcome!

These are so comfortable, I have two colours and wear them most days. Either with barrel chinos or wide leg trousers

They look great! Shame that colour isn’t in stock in my size!

Couldn't resist. I was thinking of starting an Am I too old to wear thread.

Try Gabor Slip On Loafers.

Excellent question OP - one I ask myself, usually right before I put on trainers or converse and think 'why don't I have smarter shoes to go with these trousers?'

I sometimes wear brogues with mine, but I fear they're not much in style these days.

I've ummed and ahed over loafers but can't get over the fact that they are identical to the ones I wore to school 40 years ago

Wearsmymoney wears a lot of trousers that shape, often with trainers, but often not. She had a really cool pair of kind of loafer-boots last year. Hers were Gucci, so well out of my price range, and I couldn't find a cheaper dupe anywhere. But worth looking out for this year?

I walked into Next for the first time in ages today to be met with exactly the outfits I was wearing to sixth form 40 years ago. They weren't coming from Next then!
