Will I look an idiot wearing one at 41? Also what is the sizing like?

I have one and I’m 48 !! Sizing was quite generous so I went down one size .

My uniform dress was similar in one job (reception/waiting on) and everyone, from 16-65 wore it, so I really don't see it as only for young people.
Yes, I think anyone of any age should wear what they want, but I did get why some older women at one workplace, a casino, didn't want to have a strapless dress, for a uniform. Not that I'm saying your age should dictate what you wear, but this dress doesn't seem to be something that would have been called muttony, to use that charming word, ever.

I have one and I'm 53, wore it to a madness concert. I actually went up a size but I have wide hips.

Just to say that I did look at the measurements/ measured myself so I got the correct size.

What shoes do you wear with yours?

I wore some black chunky canvase pumps but it was summer. You could get some leather brouges I think they would look nice .
