Braun IPL pro 5 - my beard has gone!

Just a rave post about the Braun IPL silk expert pro 5 which in 6 weeks has already worked wonders.

Not an Ad , just someone who was fed up of tweezing black chin hairs every morning (and then getting spots/ingrown hairs) since my early 30s.

I splashed out on Amazon , I think it was about £340, as a present to myself. I do not have the spare cash to buy myself something like this and very out of character to splurge. But I’m pleased I did.

I use it about twice a week every week for last 6 weeks and my under arm hair almost non existent, bikini line hair non existent, and my chin is significantly better. I have light skin and the hair is dark so that’s why it’s been a good effect I guess. It doesn’t really hurt , just a bit like an elastic snapping on your skin.

I know the hair isn’t gone forever and ever - I think I have to continue another 4 weeks and then do ‘top ups’ but even my autistic 5 year old thinks my chin is less hairy, apparently 🙃🤡

Ooh, my son has a hugely hairy back and always shaves or waxes it. I was wondering if these things actually worked.

From what I’ve read online (I researched a fair bit before buying) people don’t have good results when the hair they’re trying to get rid of is too fair or when they’ve not kept at the initial IPL regime. Hopefully would work on your son but I imagine he would need someone to help him do it

He is dark haired but pasty! But yes, he’d need help. I always wish I could borrow one to try to see if it’s worth it! But no one I know admits to owning one!

Amazing! Is it tricky to do it yourself on your face?

Is your hair growth hormonal? I am so tempted by these but fear with my underlying PCOS it would be fighting a losing battle

Very easy . The hardest bit is my knees

I don’t have PCOS as far as I know. It gradually started when I was 30. Have had two children since then and it’s gotten worse with age. I have to say it’s not that bad , I imagine most people talking to me wouldn’t notice it but it bothers me enough to pluck the hairs, squeeze the little dark roots out etc . People are much more likely to see the spots I would get from plucking/irritating the skin than the actual dark hair themselves.
