I'm thinking of these trousers as a staple this winter?

Smarter than joggers, more comfortable than jeans.

I like the wide leg baggier styles, I have a narrow waist and thick thighs, I think they flatter me. But, the waist must be visible, I need tops that either tuck in, are fitted or short

What jumpers would you clear with the trousers...and/or are they awful?

Love them. I am a 12/14 and end up looking chunky in this style. I might try these though

Nice trousers, and I think this style is flattering if you have solid legs but not a lot of weight on the middle. Tops I think need to be fitted - ish and sit on the waist or tuck in. Another style I can get away with though, with flat front wide or relaxed straight trousers is boxy shirts like they have in Uniqlo, which can be tucked in or worn loose.

I am size 10/12 and the S is ample as they are a bit oversized.

I love these and I'm going to steal your idea! I'm 5'9 - What's the length like if anyone knows? And @DeftGoldHedgehog if I'm a size 8 do you reckon I also size down?

DeftGoldHedgehog · 11/10/2026 15:59

Yes maybe try XS in the shirt. Looks like they sell the trousers by inside leg measurement. I'm 5'7" and the shirt sits over the waistband length, they don't show my belly- short but not cropped. Depends on boobage as well of course.

Yes. Good choice.
I've not embraced the barrel leg style but that's me.

I'd wear skinny tops not the boxy cropped ones.

Which colour(s) are you getting?

I like them a lot but judging from the length of the zip they're more of a low rise than a mid rise. The top might need to be longer than you think to avoid a cold bare midriff.

There are lots of tops out right now with a cinched in waist - that would look great with these and would give you a beautiful silhouette.

I'm personally not a fan of baggy trousers but if you get these, dont pair them with any tops that are remotely baggy as the effect will just look scruffy and sort of big all over. I generally think if you go wide on the bottom half keep the top slim and vice versa

I like them but would worry about them soaking up water like a wick on wet days.

SalmonOnFinnCrisp · Yesterday 12:57

Well the model certainly isnt enjoying wearing them....

They are lovely.

I don’t think they work in cord fabric. They are too baggy in the leg. Cord trousers work better when straight cut or slim. Baggy ones, no.

Is it not just that the models have been put in ones that are too long? Looks like you can choose the leg length...
