Versatile comfortable autumn clothes and blazer recommendation

Out of touch and my wardrobe could do with a boost. I don’t need any clothes for work. I could do with some versatile pieces for an autumn capsule wardrobe (I am tall and plus sized). I don’t suit black, white, pale pink, lemon or yellow but I’m not afraid of colour. I like most greens, coral, navy, bright orange red, teal, browns, khaki, ivory rather than white.

I have some wide leg pale jeans and a short beige mac/trench coat and some navy stretchy wide leg every day trousers (that I like and wear frequently).

I could do with some comfortable versatile, dress up/dress down smartish looking going out trousers (in a neutral colour not black) probably wide leg in a size 20, 33’/34’ inside leg.

Two or three nice go anywhere dress up/dress down blouses or shirts (ideally not polyester as I find it itchy) in a size 20 or 22.

I was also thinking about an inexpensive blazer for a couple of meals/nights out I have coming up. Maybe similar to the one in the photo below (I really like this look except the jeans) in either the same colour, khaki, navy, teal, dark green or similar. This particular one doesn’t have ruched sleeves and is from Next (but I can’t find the link). We have no local shops nearby so it will all be ordering things on line.

As more casual day time look I also like the colours in the third photo.

Snag has a new range of smart clothes and office wear and do really good jeans. Might be worth a look.

Thanks I don’t need office wear but will take a look. When I said smart I have probably confused the issue what I meant was some nicer/smarty clothes than my usual day time look which is more leisure wear.

I’m assuming the person in the photo is an influencer.

Ah, OK, I thought they were pictures of you!

I’m not a big fan of the capsule OP (because I find too much good stuff in charity shops) but I think you probably need to narrow down the colours that you’re going to enjoy wearing this autumn. Some colours tend to lean more autumnal … like some of the greens and some tend to lean more summer like the coral. I like to wear colour too and at this time
of year gravitate to forest green, burgundy, chocolate brown. I’m wondering if the pale jeans may be too much a summer colour for an autumn wardrobe. Indigo jeans or a slate grey or chocolate brown wide
legged trousers would be a good foil for any colour. What shops do you normally shop in and what shoes are you thinking because that’s going to make a difference to trousers style etc. How would you describe your normal style ?

I haven’t looked at lots of stuff but I saw these and thought they looked really useful. They described them as black but they’re clearly a washed colour and look grey to me. They would go with any of your colours I think. I like them worn with a pointy boot / shoe and they would work with the blazer you like. I would probably not get a ruched sleeved blazer myself because they’re a bit limiting with sleeve length. ( and quite frankly cold ). I have some bands I wear over my sleeves if I want to push them up.

Thanks @Divebar2021thank you I get your point about my lighter jeans colour not being ideal for autumn and the problems with colours I have said I liked as an example. I am quite restricted with being tall and plus sized but mainly tend to try and order from Next, M&S or John Lewis. I don’t really have a style as such but would like one.

I quite liked the jeans in your link but the length only goes up to regular and as said I really need a longer leg as I am tall. I have some flat pointed leopard print shoes and several brown/tan boots (from previous years) but they all have round toes.

As said in my original post the blazer from the instagram post doesn’t have ruched sleeves (the influencer pushed them up) and I don’t want ruched sleeves (but maybe nice to have full sleeves so you have that option if so desired).

I think when you’re plus sized you have less opportunity to play around with clothes and style because it’s much more about finding clothes that fit( and some plus size ranges are horrific ). Being tall might add an extra layer or complication. Do you know what you like when you see it? Would you like to be able to explore more or are you preferring to just have a little capsule jettisoned in so you don’t have to think about it ? ( sorry these might be deeper questions than you’re expecting )

I don’t know why Next don’t have that blazer … it’s annoying.

Laura Adlington was on Bake Off a few years ago and is now a plus sized fashion influencer (she’s also Rebecca Adlington’s sister). I don’t think those pics are actually the OP.

Do you think it’s either of these burgundy wine blazers or might a khaki blazer work better and be more versatile.

They're not related. Rebecca has a sister called Laura but different woman.

I really like the cut on the Friends like these, burgandy blazer in the photos and the Khaki one. I'm not sure I'd pick satin for everyday but it would be lovely for a night out.

It was more for a night out I was thinking.
