Looking for grey hair shampoo recommendations

I’m mid 40s and my hair has been going grey for a while. I used to be very dark, and now I’m completely salt and pepper all over. I think it might be time to find a shampoo that is better suited to grey hair (have been using supermarket basics since time immemorial)

does anyone have any recommendations? I realise im going to have to start spending some more but dont know where to start

I’m completely grey and have very soft hair. I never use a shampoo for grey hair I use either John Freida or Phil Smith. Both seem to suit and I usually buy one for brunette or if I can’t get that blonde. The hair type has never made a difference.
l look for when they are on special offer and stock up.

Thanks @Fiddlesticks1 - and have you been doing that a long time or is it something you changed to after going grey?

I don't use shampoo for grey hair either - it used to leave a purple tinge and was very drying. Grey hair needs lots of moisture so you are better using a moisturising shampoo. I use OGX Keratin and Argan Oil shampoo and conditioner. I can honestly say my hair has never been in better condition.

Flip, the old memory cells are not that good but I would say about 15 years or so. I think I started using John Frieda a couple of years before. Hope that helps. Use their conditioner too. Never use combined.
I found with the slightly more expensive ones compared to say, Pantene, you use less so quite economical.
