AIBU to struggle finding flattering clothes as an apple shape?

I never feel comfortable in what I’m wearing.
At first I thought it was due to my weight and so lost 2.5 stone to a point that I can comfortably maintain my current size.

I never feel comfortable in the clothes I have and don’t think I ever have. I don’t think I’ve ever worn anything that I feel confident wearing which is ridiculous given that I’m in my late thirties.

I am an apple shape and think maybe I’m not dressing for this shape.

what are your go to clothing brand or items if you are this shape? I’m a size 14.

I don’t even own any jeans that I like!!

I am a size 12 apple.
Jeans: Levis rib cage in wideleg or straight. Expensive but worth it.
Tops: Hush Emily for casual
For formal trousers and tops, recently been very impressed by Melyr, an indepedent brand. Very good quality. I don't work for them!

How tall are you?

I find v neck dresses the best. Look up Trinny & Susannah. Nothing that emphasises your waist.

I find I do better if I define my waist actually, with a drawstring or cinched waist.

Are you truly an apple shape then? I have no waist and look pregnant with very slim hips and legs.

There are 10 body shapes and wonder if you are more of a column?

Thank you. I’m short (5 foot 1) and large breasted which doesn’t help this!

Why don't you ask in the Style & Beauty topic? This is not an AIBU question.

Cary’s Whittaker on instagram will have inspiration

@Mumbythesea1this is me too. I wear a lot of v necked tunics from the likes of seasalt as dresses - this is straight shape is what flatters me most. Hangs from boobs and skims over the tummy.

Trousers are a nightmare as they are too big on the hips and tight on the waist. My jeans are straight legged ones from Tesco of all places. Skinny jeans are the most flattering when they are back in fashions. Tops it’s all about them ending in the right place - just below your belly showing your slim hips. Again b necks look best.
