Very smart work trousers with elasticated waist for early pregnancy? Help!

I’m 8 weeks pregnant with baby 3 and will need to dress very smartly at work for the next 2 months (I’m a lawyer and will be in trial).

Going by my baby 2 experience, I will probably start to show quite soon and definitely before the end of the first trimester, but really do not want it to be obvious.

Fortunately I will need to wear jackets every day which are quite forgiving, but can anyone recommend smart trousers which look tailored but are actually elasticated waist?

Any other bump concealing tips gratefully received.

M&S is your friend. They do elasticated waist smart work trousers for about £20 a pair. They have different colours and styles (I'm only 5'3" and looked stupid in the very wide leg ones, but they do straight leg, narrow leg, and a less extreme wide leg too).

I do usually size up, as M&S trouser sizing can be quite punishing; I'm an 8-10 everywhere else and usually wear size 10 in M&S, occasionally a 12.

Halara are really good. Lots on Vinted

They are pricey but lulu lemon do incredible trousers in a range of colours and pinstripe. They’re so comfy and my go-to for plane journeys.

Thank you! Will investigate all these options.

I’m in my second tri, in our recent southern hemisphere winter I bought some wool blend trousers from And Other Stories which worked well in my first and into my second trimester. They had an elasticated bit at the back, but a flat zip and button front like normal work trousers so looked more professional.

I’ve just had a look and they’re still showing up on ASOS for me (I am in Aus so might not be available in the UK) - the slim leg pants with elastic back waist in brown. Despite the name they were reasonably wide legged!

H&M mama I found super helpful and definitely work appropriate

Both COS and Massimo Dutti usually have a selection of trousers with hidden elastic in the waist.

I don’t know if they’re smart enough (I’m assuming you’re corporate?), but Tu (Sainsbury’s) have smartish trousers with elastic waists. And given you’ll only wear them for a few months, they are very cheap.

Ninepine have loads https://www.ninepine.uk/collections/tailored

Thank you! @Floradon the ninepine ones look great as ideally they would look like tailored trousers - have you ordered from there before? Is the quality good?

I normally wear suits from Jigsaw and Cos to give an idea of smartness level/price point, and would ideally look the same.
